Chapter 15 The Presentation

“Moi, hi… Moi…” Mrs. Rose called behind me. I stopped my step and smiled at her.

“Where are you going? It’s lunch time. Let’s have lunch together.” said Mrs. Rose, as usual, looked fashionable and neat. Her fresh perfume was smelt by me.

“I have gone to Ron and then continued to Angel. Let’s lunch Mrs. Rose. After this, Moi must edit and complete the report to be presented this afternoon. Still in 4 hours later, I hope my presentation can be received by Lord Jonah.” I took a deep breath, imagined the Lord Jonah’s cold face in my mind.

I passed lunch with lots of questions to Mrs. Rose,

“Why did Lord Jonah change from just a report to presentation, Mrs. Rose? Before meeting Vicko, he just asked for a report. Then after meeting Vicko, Lord Jonah asked Moi for a presentation.”

Mrs. Rose, who was cleaning her teeth with a toothpick, stopped her activity. She turned to me and answered me with a smile, 

“There may be a request from General Manton so that you present Moi. After all, if there are things that are lacking, it can be fixed immediately before your report material is brought by Lord Jonah to the capital.”

“Be calm Moi, I support you. With the presentation later, I can give you suggestions which is lacking.” She continued while staring at my face.

“Mrs. Rose will accompany Moi during the presentation, won’t you?Then who will be present in Moi’s presentation, besides Lord Jonah and Mrs. Rose?” I asked worriedly.

“Maybe there will be Dragono, Jeffry, and Doctor Stephan too. Be calm down Moi, you’re a smart girl, you can do it. Assume this is your thesis presentation.” said Mrs. Rose while she patted my shoulder.

I sighed.

Jeff?

Jeff the Hacker?

Dr. Stephan?

My head felt heavy…

From various disciplines would listen to my presentation.

What did Lord Jonah mean with cause to be present Jeff, Doctor Stephan, Dragono and Mrs. Rose in my presentation?

Did he want to embarrass or test my mental?

My thesis when tested causing to be present mentors and lecturers with the same discipline as mine, psychology.

It could be Lord Jonah through Jeff, Doctor Stephan and Mrs. Rose wanted to cut off my presentation.

Maybe Lord Jonah was vengeful when I slammed the microphone in front of Vicko. His revenge was aimed at humiliating me mentally.

 “Moi goes back to the room first, Mrs. Rose. Moi must finish Moi’s work immediately, so that my presentation is good. Please support for the presentation later this afternoon, Mrs. Rose.”

I got up and tidied my dining tray and then went to my room to continue work, although confusion and aggravation hit my mind.

That afternoon I prepared myself for the presentation. I and Mrs. Rose went from the front of my room. I felt my steps as if not to arrive to the observation room, moreover I carried a bag containing a laptop, felt heavy at every step.

I followed Mrs. Rose to the observation room.

Dragono had been there. His back was huge and athletic, until the Chimera soldier’s uniform was tight on his body. The big tall bald man was installing an LCD screen for my presentation. 

I opened my laptop and prepared my presentation, tested whether the projector can run properly. 

Good luck everything.

For a moment Lord Jonah appeared accompanied by Doctor Stephan and the last was the geeky face Jeffry the Hacker.

Gosh, I was a little nervous. They were smart, while I was just a fresh graduate girl, not even got graduation ceremony yet. 

There were 5 chairs prepared by Dragono. Lord Jonah sat in the middle, flanked by Mrs. Rose and Doctor Stephan. Next to Mrs. Rose was Dragono and next to Doctor Stephan was Jeffry, the Hacker.

Mrs. Rose gave a signal for starting of my presentation. 

“Get on with it Moi, the presentation is started.” She said as she sat, while one leg was crossed to the other.

“Good afternoon, thank you for coming especially Lord Jonah. Umm… and also doctor Stephan, Mr. Dragono, Bro Jeffry and of course Mrs. Rose.” I said, rather trembling when opened my presentation.

“I start my presentation, if there are questions from gentlemen, please be patient first, waiting for my presentation to finish first. The title of my presentation this afternoon is ‘The power of the mind’.”

“Telepathy, clairvoyant, precognition, indigo, electro kinesis, and others that all come from the mind. The basis of developing the power of the mind is started from evolution. Today’s humans have evolved from millions of years ago. The power of the human mind increases along with the volume of the human brain that grows.  From Australopithecus which only has a brain volume of 400 cc, it’s even less than the two glasses of mineral water we drink. Then the human brain evolved into Homo habilis, brain volume has increased to 700 cc. Homo erectus brain volume evolved to 800 cc.”

“Eventually it has evolved into Homo Sapiens, with brain volume more than 1,000 cc up to around 1400 cc, highest in that time. Along with the volume of the human brain increasing, the intelligence is increasing too but physically weakened. That is why people here seem to have accompanying disorders, such as easy to stress, fever, hyperactivity, impulsiveness.”

I shifted my slide to the next slide.The appearance of an explosion in the universe appeared on the screen.

“The big bang theory.”

I continued while pointing to the screen by pointer.

“The universe was created from a single explosion.  The explosion vibrates and from it ether, air, fire, water and land is created.From the ground, created all living things including humans, so we are created from the same origin and are interconnected.Last night Angel also told me that he was thrown far into the past, where the world was created. She saw an explosion and then many things were created, from humans, plants, animals and so on.”

“That is why we can be connected to stars, animals, other humans, everything. This is caused by this. The getting clever humans, the volume of the brain develops, the process of this union will be stronger. Humans can do telepathy, can go back to the past, precognition, indigo, all because the elements of the universe are before us and are recorded down through the generations in our DNA naturally, long ago when the universe happened.”

“And now with an increased brain volume make metaphysical phenomena are more increasingly owned by gifted ones and people who want to explore their potential.”

“Wait Kid, I’m indeed the dumbest among of you from the level of education. it’s good a little insight from… maybe doctor Stephan or Mrs. Rose or Jeffry whose mathematical logic is good for responding to your presentation before it is more confusing. Let’s doctor Stephan, Mrs. Rose, and Jeffry pleases rate.” Dragono said interrupting my presentation.

“I think, Moira is too easy to conclude, by saying people here are easily stressed, feverish, hyperactive, and impulsive. It’s good that science can’t be subjective. Moira as a psychology graduate must not be subjective in judging thingsmoreover including the opinion of Curly as supporting data. It must be based on facts and data, Moira.” Doctor Stephan responded.

“Uhm… like this Moi.”  Jeff interrupted while clearing his throat asking for our attention.

“I hope your presentation also processes data. Don’t just be like this. This is raw and contains many opinions. You used to have statistics courses, haven’t you? From qualitative data change it to quantitative, so it’s not too biased. Understand?” Said Jeff in his smart-ass style, his face looked up but I saw his body actually little slipped from the chair.

I gasped. My plan indeed extended my presentation as long as possible. So they were tired, dizzy and didn’t have time to ask.But suddenly Dragono, the bald king Kong tried to break my plan. Dragono provoked my presentation.

I saw Lord Jonah not reacting, his face remained flat but his head bowed slightly, as if he didn’t care about my presentation. 

I was nervous. My hand was holding the pointer felt floating. my mind seemed lost. I wasn’t ready to respond to their massacre.

“Dear gentlemen, have explained from the beginning that all questions please ask at the end of the presentation. Let Moira continue her presentation.” Mrs. Rose opened her voice, her face turned to the audience one by one.

“This is not a question Mrs. Rose, this is a statement. Please be distinguished about it.” said Jeff, not wanting to lose.

“I’m sorry, gentlemen. I really appreciate the criticism and suggestions. Thank you doctor Stephan, sorry this is also still subjective. And next time a good request from Jeff I try to include, but due to time constraints and also the sample of respondents is also not possible.  May I continue my presentation? This is still a lot of material.” as if I had the opportunity to be able to process words and dodge, when Mrs. Rose interceded.

“Kid, You’ve listened to them talk about your presentation.  You’re too subjective, not use data and facts and even the opinions of unstable people like Angel you use for your presentation.” interrupted Dragono as if pursued my responsibility.

“Mr. Dragono, Moi’s job is to collect data on people here. This is indeed just a question and answer session with them, observing their behavior. If it’s subjective about Angel, aren’t Mr. Iskandar the one from the police and Lord Jonah’s other colleagues, they are from the military, they also entrust the directions from Angel, are they?” I submit my argument.

Dragono was silent, my argument silenced him.

I gasped. Jeff was so impudent to want to harm me,

“What more do you doubt Moi?everything in the world can be calculated with mathematics. You can buy a house whenever with your salary now. Planetary distance, the number of molecules in your ring, moreover…”

“Shut up, Jeff. Let this kid continue her presentation. My time is also limited to reporting my responsibilities this month.” suddenly Lord Jonah voiced a loud noise.

“Okay… Ok continue, please… but if not qualified, I want to finish my work too. I left many jobs, for the sake of presentation of this apprentice girl.” said Jeff while sitting up straighter. 

Apprentice girl?

Ah, just ignore Jeff’s words. I had to focus on my presentation.

 “I continue the presentation. In conclusion, the human brain that has developed according to the law of evolution makes humans smarter. Everything is created from the mind. Vision or foresight, making humans plan needs in the future. Imagination makes a breakthrough from human limitations. Creativity develops human abilities. Non-pathological illnesses, such as mental disorders, is created from the mind… well, this also entered the realm of Mrs. Rose is a psychiatrist, isn’t Mrs. Rose?” I asked for support from Mrs. Rose.

“Ehmm, yes Moi. Stressors and hormonal disorders can make someone mentally disturbed.” explained Mrs. Rose supporting me.

“And also because the mind can cause disease, isn’t it true, Doctor Stephan?” I gave feedback to doctor Stephan.

“Yah, Moi. Heart disease is not only caused by the wrong lifestyle, it can also be bacteria from the teeth that are not controlled. It could also be due to the wrong lifestyle. “Thank you Mrs. Rose and Doctor Stephan. Basically from the power of the mind the body can be healthy, can be sick, can exceed physical strength, and can be smart. It depends on how we use it, manipulate it so that the mind can develop.” I said and began to master the presentation environment.

My goal was to throw feedback, in order to reduce my nervous, get pause to think and get the support of doctors Stephan and Mrs. Rose.

It worked!

 “For the next about the people here, the results of this presentation have been agreed upon. Some people here have signed beforehand. Of course, there is a psychological test done for internal and state interests. I will report the results of this presentation to my leader here, it is Lord Jonah.”I said while looking at Lord Jonah.

Lord Jonah’s eyes remained cold looking at me.

“Then I continued my presentation from Jeff, Henry the telepathic phenomenon , Ron the indigo, Risty and Angel the ability to explore time, Rado the electro kinesis,  Mrs. Rose the psychokinetic, Leman the fakir and the complexity of Vicko.”

“For Jeff from my point of view,he is a good person. His IQ is above normal, bright normal. He is diligent and focused on the goal. He likes challenges and dares to take risk.”

Jeff looked stunned and then smiled faintly when I presented about him.

“My personal opinion, Jeff should be released from this place immediately. The country can use its expertise to protect the country’s security from evil hackers.”

“Ah… for me it’s the same, Moi. Where I am, as long as there’s money and a computer I’m willing to be placed anywhere.” said Jeff while smiling, his eyes sparkled with delight.

“Henry, with telepathic expertise, he utilizes the power of his mind, confidence in him is focused to transfer it to the intended person. He uses brainwave line that is aligned with his purpose, similar to radio there is a transistor and a receiver. His telepathic ability starts with communicating between family members, then continues to increase, until the last time he contacted me when I first visited his cell.”

“Are you still contacted by Henry, kid? Or are you contacting each other via telepathy?” suddenly Lord Jonah asked me.

“Oh, it’s not Lord Jonah. When Henry first called Moi via telepathy, after that Moi was a bit dizzy. Maybe communicating telepathically makes me easy to tire. Next time Moi will try to learn with Henry about telepathy.” I disproved to cover my ability about telepathy with Henry.

“Okay, let’s continue, now about… Ron the indigo. Indigo is a gifted, so Ronald was born indigo. According to chakra theory, there are seven chakras in the human body. “Then to Rado, Rado’s electro kinesis phenomenon usually occurs because of a stressor. “You’re great, Moi, can move things.” Jeff commented praising me.

“Well, this is can’t be explained by mathematical calculations Jeff, but the power of the mind. If you are too logical, then your mind will be shackled there.” I replied while replying to his argument earlier.

Jeff was silent, he looked contemplating my statement.

“For the Leman case, Moi hasn’t been able to learn deeper due to time constraints, but from the condition of trance makes Leman go beyond the order created by our mindset, some kind of habit or common habits. For example humans make arrangements to eat three times a day then at certain hours will appear hunger. Leman who lost time orientation make him not know when he has to eat, because his body does not prepare stomach acid which marks his hunger.” I explained about Leman the fakir.

“For Vicko, because he’s a psychopath he should be in rehabilitation not be held and pitted here. A combination of treatment between a psychologist and a psychiatrist is needed to handle it. Not be encouraged by an aggressive nature which makes him attack people and worsened his psychopath.” I explained about Vicko, I covered Vicko’s normalcy so that what Vicko’s plan to change the results of his test was not detected by Lord Jonah.

“That’s a dream, Kid! Dream! Vicko gets a big honor here! He should have died because he was sentenced to death! Remember he is a man who his status has been killed, and no more identity! Moreover, two more battles he can be free if he wins. He has been prepared to have a new identity and can leave here as someone with a new identity.” said Dragono ferociously, his eyes glaring furiously at me.

“That is an objective statement from me, Mr. Dragono. According to my knowledge, person who have disturbances, obstacles, or declared deviation in his souls should be rehabilitated and treated. Not making it worse, likewise with Angel, Ronald, Risty they are not worthy here. Isn’t that so doctored Stephan and Mrs. Rose?” I concluded, voicing my conscience’s opinion, asking for support to Doctor Stephan and Mrs. Rose as psychiatrist.

Silence environment, both doctor Stephan and Mrs. Rose in a giddy pose, as if they didn’t hear feedback from me.

Doctor Stephan looked down while writing on a piece of paper, while Mrs. Rose’s eyes were flat and her hands support her chin.

“Okay, my presentation has finished. I say thank you so much to all those present here.” I said as I closed the presentation.

Ah, hopefully there were no more strange questions or statements from those present.

“How is your respond, Lord Jonah?” Dragono said with his hand as if inviting Lord Jonah to speak.

I was pounding, waiting for Lord Jonah’s answer in my presentation. Did Lord Jonah receive my presentation? Did Lord Jonah act beyond my expectations?

“Ok, enough.” answered Jonah briefly.

“Enough?” said Mrs. Rose and Dragono together. They were shocked while their faces turned towards Lord Jonah. Everyone present also turned their eyes towards Lord Jonah.

“Yeah, I’ve had enough of this kid’s presentation. Give our files to her.” said Lord Jonah coldly while gesturing to Dragono.

Lord Jonah’s reaction was very different from what I feared, but all present did not dare to refute it.Dragono slowly moved to take the flash disk from his belt pocket.

I was still surprised and also relieved that my presentation was received by Lord Jonah.

I have imagined badly that my presentation was rejected or might be shot or thrown into the sea by Lord Jonah.

“For Doctor Stephan and Jeff you can continue your work.” said Lord Jonah still sitting.

Doctors Stephan and Jeffry stepped out of the room without saying much again.

“Now change, you present, Rose.” said Lord Jonah, surprised me.

“Okay, Lord Jonah. I prepare first. Moi, I borrow your laptop yah…” said Mrs. Rose while plugging in a flash disk and turned to the screen looking for the data signal connection.

 “I’m starting, Moi. So, the history of why the Chimera Project exists is based on the desire of our top brass to form a strong state military. So far our military has been good enough, skilled and trained. But it would be nice if we could have military more than ordinary people. It’s more dexterous in fighting, stronger, smarter, healthier, more endurance on the battlefield, more able to read the battlefield and the enemy. I was very relieved that Lord Jonah accepted my presentation without requisite and Mrs. Rose supported me muffling Jeff’s words.

My mind flew to the presenter, Mrs. Rose. If the presentation woman was not in scary place like here.If she was a lecturer.

I can imagine a warm and close class, with her beauty and intelligence. Mrs. Rose would be an attractive and authoritative figure. Mrs. Rose would be glimpsed with interest by fellow single lecturers and students would scramble to ask questions or consult to her just to get attention from Mrs. Rose.

What did make quality women like Mrs. Rose was trapped here?   

In a place that might not have any future at all.

“Moi, halloo… Moi… is it clear?” scolded Mrs. Rose.

I blinked and stuttered,

“Eh, yes, yes, it’s clear Mrs. Rose. Sorry, please continue.”

The picture changed again.There was an image of the human brain and its functions.

I glanced at Dragono. That man didn’t listen at all to the lengthy presentation of Mrs. Rose. That man was busy scribbling on a book that looked like an agenda.

“Now is the time for our power of minds to dig deeper to optimize human greatness, Moi.” I gasped when my name was mentioned.

“Okay enough, this is introduction of presentation about the contents of the flash disk.it is the development and research that has been achieved during here from the Chimera team. This is a state secret. We leave it to you, learn for you to develop and be useful to ease your work. By the submission of this data, it is hoped that you can dig deeper and also speed up your work. Any questions Moi?”

“Uhm… I want to be able to fly like Leman, can be telepathic like Henry. Also want to be able to produce electricity like Rado, can be indigo like Ronald,time explorer like Risty and Angel. All phenomenal things only became a brief discussion in my faculty. And now Moi is fortunate, able to see the tangible manifestation of their abilities on this island, Mrs. Rose. “

“Rose, make sure that she doesn’t omit the flash disk in her hand. If she omits it, her life will also be lost.” said Lord Jonah, standing and pointing at my face.

I gasped. Although my presentation was received, Lord Jonah was still fierce to me.

“Yes, Lord Jonah. Moi will be held responsible this data.” I replied slowly.

“Just hang it around your neck, kid. So wherever you go, it’s carried by you.” said Dragono while draping the long rope connected to the flash disk to my neck.

I was speechless when Dragono’s arm which was as big as my head draped a flash disk to my neck. It was like a dog that be put on a necklace by this giant man. 

A moment later, Lord Jonah followed Dragono leave the investigation room. Just I and Mrs. Rose were in the investigation room.

“Mrs. Rose, on what occasion does Lord Jonah go to the capital?”

“He has three months leaved. So it’s a bit long, for three days. He also goes there to report verbally and all reports to General Manton.”

“General Manton, is he Ariesty’s father, isn’t he?”

“He is the highest person in charge on this island. All reports including financial statements are submitted to him. He also managed the funding for the continuity of the Chimera project. I took my laptop and walked out of the investigation room, following Mrs. Rose.

I touched the flash disk on my necklace. Should this thing hang on my neck forever? 

I didn’t like it much. A thin nylon flash disk strap can make me itch if hanging all the time. 

Ouch… maybe it need to be replaced when it had been dirty and itchy on my neck.

After dinner I returned to my room. I used my solitude to open data from the flash disk.

When I opened and entered to the contents of the flash disk, it turned out that there were so many insights and developments in the knowledge I had gained. I felt my knowledge was little.

About an hour later, I closed my laptop. Even though I was tired but my mind was enthusiastic, the contents of the flash disk had aroused my curiosity. But it took time to understand, because the contents were very structured and complicated.

I was reminded of what happened this afternoon. At the time of my presentation was shook arguments by Doctor Stephan, Jeff and Dragono.

I was thinking, tomorrow I had to approach Doctor Stephan.

Why would an idealist like him be on the Chimera Island and felt comfortable?

Why did he not appear when there was a duel at The Arena?

Why did he not try to save or care for the casualty?

My mind was tossed about, the number of people here and the chaos that arose like a puzzle scattered and had to be arranged to get its clarity. 

Ah, it was good to contact Henry now. I tried to call out, 

“Henry, Henry… Hello Henry. Can you hear me? Yahoo… Henry, Hello…” 

Henry’s voice entered my head in a surprised tone, 

“Why, Moi. It has been midnight, have you not slept?”

“Hehehe… yes it’s me. How could you not recognize my melodious voice like a yearning reed like this?”

Henry’s voice was excited, 

“Yes, I’m sorry. I thought that crazy person was planning the destruction of this place.”

“I’m a prodigy. Without your guidance now I can contact via telepathy with you.” I was teasing him.

“Huh, so arrogant.” said Henry as if annoyed at me.

“Yeah… yeah… I’m glad you can telepathic. Usually I keep calling you first. By this way we can exchange information at any time. One day I also want you can listen to telepathy who is building an evil conspiracy here.” Henry continued, starting to tense me.

“Tomorrow I will meet you and than not being able to sleep tonight. I want to ask, what do you know about General Manton, Risty’s father, Henry?” I asked.

A few seconds passed without sound. After that, Henry answered. 

“General Manton is close to businessman. And because I was involved in the transfer of money from Mr. Mc Pherson, an acquaintance of General Manton, I was secured here without clarity. General Manton can exploit my abilities, Mr. Mc Pherson lost track of me. This is also an advantage for me, if I was still outside, I could be killed by accomplice of Mr. Mc Pherson.”

“Then what do you know about this Risty, Hen?” I asked probing.

“I have never met this strange daughter from General Manton. I heard she was very good at exploring time into the future. I know her name from the guards here. You know that my cell is isolated behind. I was placed in the same area with Vicko, Rado and Leman. As if my behavior as equal with them. Whereas I’m sweet and always bekind, very much different from the two neighbors of my cell.”

I smiled even though I felt bitter in my heart. This was the second time Henry had protested himself in a cell in the same area with Vicko.

“Yes, Hen. I’ve seen it witnessed. Risty can find out the future, it’s just that she always describes it with symbols and pictures that have to look for the meaning again. She never immediately said what her future would look like. It was fear of overtaking fate, and could shorten her life.”

“Shortening of life? What does that have to do with destiny? It is Superstition Moi, not relevance.” Henry refuted.

“Uh, how do I know Hen? Maybe rules or ethics cross time like that. Who knows? I see that Risty is thin and weak. Her whole body is full of wires and medical devices. What a pity she is, Hen. Every time she is asked to run to the future to see the resolution of murder cases by the army also Lord Jonah, she became weak and powerless. The energy’s gone, Hen.”

“I can understand. Such ability certainly drains a lot of energy. Telepathy drains our energy too. I ever say it to you, don’t I?” Henry asked.

“That’s right. Now I’m so hungry anymore, Hen. My Energy was drained… ten minutes later we desist to talk anymore, okay?” I answered.

“While waiting for breakfast, you can bite the pillow first, Moi.” Henry’s voice provoked my laugh.

“I don’t want it. It’s better if I bite the bed. It’s Bigger and more solid. I must be full.”  I replied his joke.

“Tomorrow we meet, Moi. But remember, no one else knows your ability about telepathy, later you will be entered the cell too by Dragono.”

“If I’m in one cell with you, I don’t mind.” I taunted.

“I’m demur.” said Henry.

“So what?” I asked in wonder.

“My food rations can be taken by you, Moi. I’m starving later. Ladies first, man suffer.” replied Henry.

I smiled again, even though Henry was in prison he could still joke.

“Ok Moi, go to sleep. I want to stand guard for another half hour. I think to night there is a telepathic line that I can hear. I want to know what events will occur, what they want, and who involved here. Good night…” Henry ended the telepathic conversation to night.

“Good night, Hen. Tomorrow I will visit you.” I said goodbye.

Ah, that’s right. I felt tired now after I made telepathy with Henry.

I must go to sleep soon, so that tomorrow would not be oversleeping.

A moment later I remembered my campus, the shadow of the table, the lecture chair, the whiteboard as if flashed between my sleepiness.

I enjoyed the process of my sleep that is comfortable until asleep.

Suddenly I heard a scream even though it was far behind, but I heard steps as if walking towards the center of the sound.

I was waked up.  

That was Henry’s voice!

I jumped from my bed, wearing my sleeping pajamas. 

I opened the door. A glimpse of Mrs. Rose and Doctor Stephan hurried toward the back room where Henry was still screaming.

“Get me out! Get me out of here!”

I followed their steps from behind half running. My heart felt beating fast. What happened to Henry?

Chapter 14 The Dangerous Puzzle

I regulated my breath, trying not to look stressed, because Angel had been enough stressed in her life.

“Angel, tell me how Angel got into the past.” I begged while diverting the conversation about the duel that would occur. 

Angel didn’t answer immediately. Her curling eyelashes blinked repeatedly, as if Angel was trying to think hard before finding the answer. 

“Uhmm… the key is the situation, the scent, and the right sensation Moi.” 

I tried not to smile. My mind focused on drinking coffee, there was the right scent and sensation. But from the look on Angel’s face, she seemed to be serious about what she said. The Angel’s answer was difficult to understand but she answered earnestly. 

“What do you mean Angel? Moi doesn’t understand.” I asked while putting my arm around her shoulders. 

Angel sighed. Her big eyes looked up, her head tilted to the left before answering. It seemed she was trying to remember something.

“Moi, Angel has wandered in the past, there was a time when Angel saw Angel’s predecessor… Then Angel was thrown away where the time of the world was created… We are a unity, Moi…” 

I was bristling to hear Angel’s answer. This girl turned out to have traveled far in the past, maybe even a time that was unimaginable to humans. A mystical, magical journey and only Angel knew. 

“It was Angel saw the void, dark, silent, empty… suddenly there was an explosion. from that explosion, Angel saw a little balls that getting bigger and then dividing… divide into a form else, there are  be the world, water, trees, humans, animals, various living things.”

I was stunned. All my life I had never heard an odd story like this, but from the look in her eyes and her serious face, Angel did not seem to be lying. Moreover the incident what I saw the other day, Mr Iskandar, a police commissioner, believed in Angel’s story.

I stroked her shoulder while asking, 

“What does this have to do with the sensation and scent, Angel?”

“Therefore, Moi. Why are we all connected, there is material in an object that brings us to the past, because we are part of the past, a time when we became one.” 

Before I finished understanding the sentence, Angel asked, 

“Has Moi ever felt that… Moi had ever visited somewhere…? Moi feel like had visited it but Moi had never been there.” 

“Oh, the term is Dejavu, Angel. Yes, Moi ever felt it, even when i arrived here i felt familiar with this place.” I tried to explain what Angel described by term. 

“Well, that’s Moi. Maybe our ancestors or predecessors ever been here, so the scent, the right sensation trigger it… because the blood that flow to our brain, to our nose, to our touch nerve, to our eyes… have been inherited that. The difference is that Angel is more sensitive because i go to the past more often.” Angel explained, her face looking down at the floor. 

I was silent. Angel’s explanation made me think of my father. Did father ever set his foot in this place? So I felt Dejavu with this place, because our DNA structure was same, so we connected. Actually my mouth had wanted to ask Angel about my father, but I held back,remembering Angel’s condition that was always in a depressed condition. After all, was I ready? If knowing my father had been… gone? 

I undo my intention to ask further and remembered my task that was still a lot. The risk that the worst thing may have happened to daddy and also Angel can experience a heavy trance. 

“Okay, Angel. Thank you for talking with Moi. It has late at night and also Moi has to make a report right away. See you later, Angel.” I laid Angel on her bed and then covered her.

I gave a wave of my hand before I closed the door. Angel just nodded while hugging her gonzo doll. 

I continued my work that night. Interaction with gifted ones in this place made me really burdened because they were complex with all the advantages and problems. 

And specifically for Vicko, I had to be unspeakable about Vicko’s manipulations in his psychological tests in the past, so he was declared a psychopath. 

The next morning, Mrs. Rose knocked on my door. I was surprised. Apparently I was caught by daylight. I opened the door of my room. Covered my mouth with my hand because I hadn’t had time to shower and brush my teeth.

10 minutes later I ran into the dining room. 

Mrs. Rose sat on one of the benches. When I passed her benches, Mrs. Rose touched my shoulder. 

“How was your sleep, Moi?” greeted Mrs. Rose graciously.

“Oh, I could only sleep for a few hours. I’m busy chasing the initial report to Lord Jonah. Wait a moment Mrs. Rose. I want to take my meal first.”

I took the tray and queued for breakfast. Mrs. Rose stood beside me, joining in line.

“Today you are free to observe anyone. The important thing is this afternoon you present what you got here. Lord Jonah asked for your presentation at 5 pm in the interrogation room.” 

“Yes, Mrs. Rose Please support me, so that my presentation can be accepted by Lord Jonah. Today I want to meet and observe Ronald.”

“This time let Dragono accompany you, Moi.” said Mrs. Rose.

Just observing the little boy, why must be accompanied by the sword hand of Lord Jonah,a tall, big like King Kong, that Dragono? I didn’t observe Leman or Vicko, did I? I thought in my heart. 

Was not Mrs. Rose want to accompany me as usual? Was… that woman now keeping a distance from me? 

Silence covered both of us. We were each busy with our breakfast. It felt really awkward. Our sitting position faced each other, but as if the distance between us was thousands of kilometers away. 

Lord Jonah stopped at our table with his breakfast tray. 

“Rose. I’m going to the capital. I will be home in three days. Is there any entrusted?” 

My chest was pounding. Lord Jonah was going to the capital and after returning from there, he will hold another duel, as Angel said last night. 

“Oh, no, Lord Jonah. Maybe Moi, does anyone want to be bought from the city?” 

“Lord Jonah, Moi has a request for goods that I have left with my mother. All items are ready 5 days from now. Now Moi wants to observe Ronald first and then Angel. Come on, Lord Jonah.” I asked for leave to get away from both of these people immediately and back to my room.  

When I was in my room, suddenly a scene entered my mind. a real scene was similar to seeing a movie, or having a dream. Strangely it was in the morning and I felt like having a real dream. 

I saw clearly in Lord Jonah’s office. There were Lord Jonah and Mrs. Rose was sitting face to face. 

Suddenly they spoke, 

“This child is starting to be apathetic with me, Lord Jonah.” said Mrs. Rose. 

“She’s your responsibility, Rose. Keep an eye on her.” Lord Jonah said with his arms on the waists. 

“That’s why she was with Dragono this morning.” Said Mrs. Rose.

The scene and hearing suddenly disappeared. 

I was stunned. It happened again… 

Saw and heard their conversation. So behind me, Lord Jonah and Mrs. Rose continued to talk about me. 

“Moi.Shhh Moi…” Henry’s voice echoed in my mind. 

I focused my mind on telepathic communication with him, 

“Hi, Henry. How are you?” I greeted. 

“I’m almost crazy Moi, last night blood came out of my nose. There was a ruptured blood vessel in my nose because I had a strong telepathic battle with someone there. He tried to block the telepathic traffic that occurred when I tried to enter.” 

“What! How’s your condition now, Henry?” I asked worriedly. 

“It has not been bleeding anymore. My head seems to have been gripped at that time, the strength of his mind is increasing day by day.” said Henry.

“Who is he Henry? Why doesn’t he allow you to communicate with him?” I was choked with fear and confusion of this incident. 

“I don’t know Moi, they are many people. They named Alfa, Beta, Charlie and so on, doesn’t know how many people… but they are many. They disguise their identities with nicknames.” Henry explained via telepathy to me. 

“You must be careful Henry. What have you heard from them?” I asked curiously.

“They conspired to immediately carry out the plan. They said that plan A had to run immediately. I don’t know what was meant by plan A. They knew the frequency of my mind heard their telepathy, suddenly I was attacked. Moi, my life depended on you.” 

“Thanks, my best friend Henry. You have to be strong so that I’m not weak. Sorry, yesterday I yelled at you.” I said trying to cheer him up. 

“It is okay. Forget just what has passed. I am not easily offended, as long as you come to my cell today.” 

“Today I’m busy Henry. This afternoon I will presentation with my minimal ability. I was required to presentation by Lord Jonah. By the way, did you have breakfast?” I asked. 

“I’m… hmm… I haven’t had an appetite.” said Henry as if reluctantly.

“Shhh… Hen, Dragono approached me.” Dragono, the giant man came to me with his wide and fast steps. The sound of his boots was thudding and shaking on the floor. His big figure really intimidated me. 

“Why did you choose Ron for your visit, Kid?” said Dragono opening the conversation.

I really dislike this ‘Kid’ call. 

“My name is Moira, Mr. Dragono. It’s not a Kid.” I said while exhaling. 

Dragono looked at me intently,

“Hmm… You are really a Kid. Look at your small and thin stature like that. Your father who is an army should be ashamed to have a child like you. And I hope you don’t control me because you’re not my boss.” 

I inhaled,

“Moi mean, Mr. Dragono might have another more important job. Moi feels that accompanying Moi to observe Ronald and continue to Angel will be very boring for you.” 

Dragono folded his arms in front of his chest. 

“No. I was assigned to accompany you, Kid. You know that in the military, authority and obedience is number one. Even though I don’t like the command, I have to do it even if the risk is killed. My request is one. You have to focus on finding out how Ronald can be indigo. You have to uncover the mystery of that child’s ability, how it can be happen.” 

I smiled,

“Indigo is someone’s natural gifted since childhood, Mr. Dragono. Not the result of engineering or human creation.” 

Dragono’s expression looked like he was going to swallow me.

“Uncover that mystery!so that the military can have that ability.” he said as if impatient.  

“It takes time, Mr. Dragono. Moi must observe deeply about this Indigo phenomenon. Then why is the ability of indigo interesting to be learned by the military, Mr. Dragono?”  

“The gifted like Ron are very useful. So, if the military fights, it will be very easy to distinguish between enemies and friends. It seen from the aura of those who do evil will be immediately visible. Hiding behind a wall or a tree will be easy to found out of the aura it emitted. Moreover the ability to detect diseases obtained from the effects of indigo, and then distinguishes which foods are beneficial for the body, which are not.”

Rupert replied respectfully. 

“Hello Ron, good morning.” I said. 

Ronald was in bed. He was reading a book. Dragono followed me into Ronald’s room. He crossed his arms in front of his chest and stood in silence. Good riddance. 

“What do you read, Ron?” I asked. 

Ronald sat on his bed, a pillow supporting his back. I moved closer to Ron and sat beside him. I looked at Ron’s room that was clean enough. Thankfully, the cleanliness of the Chimera was apparently getting priority. 

“This is the story of an old fisherman, Sis Moi.” 

“Oh, Sis Moi also has read that book. Let’s read together. The sea is indeed extraordinary resources, isn’t it?” I said enthusiastically. 

“And the ocean waves are truly unlimited in strength.” Ron replied. 

“Ron, if you could. Would Ron to get ocean power? Later, Sis Moi will give the game, Ron.” I said, attracting his attention 

“Game of the sea, Sis Moi? Cool… I want it, Sis.”

“Okay. Ron tries to sit quietly, yah. Sis Moi borrows the book first, okay?” I took the book in Ron’s hand.

“The sea water was light blue, Ron’s pair of feet stepped on soft, wet sand. Enjoy your walk, Ron. Isn’t that beautiful, Ron?” 

“It’s Beautiful, Sis Moi.” said Ron. 

I glanced at Dragono. The big man folded his arms in front of his chest. His eyes are cold and watching me. 

“Ron feels calm on the beach. Try Ron takes a deep breath through the nose. Yeah, feel the freshness. There is peace. Ron exhales slowly…”

“Ron likes nature, coming in, getting more relaxed. Ron is at the beach, Ron more relaxed it is.”

I guided Ron slowly. I saw Ron’s eyes closed, on his lips a line of thin smiles appeared. Ron seemed to enjoy the condition. 

“Now, Ron hears applause from Sis Moi. Ron must obey what Sis Moi said. Does Ron understand? Nod Ron’s head if Ron understands. Every time Ron hears applause from Sis Moi, like this. So, Ron must obey Sis Moi.” I spoke while clapping. It seemed that Ron was responding to this process. He nodded when I told him to nod. 

Time was running, and Ron was in a calm condition, even though his eyes were closed he always followed the suggestion that I gave. 

“Okay Ron, it has started to be fresh now, yeah … it’s getting fresher. And from today Ron is calmer, the calmer your behavior, to be better. Yes… to be better. And on the count of three, Ron open the eyes. One… two… three! How’s Ron? Is your body Relax?” 

“Yes, Sis Moi. Ron feels fresher.” 

“Sis Moi asks to leave first, Ron. This morning is enough. See you tomorrow. Bye…”

“Bye, Sis Moi.” Ron replied while waving his hand. 

Dragono and I left Ron’s room and we chatted, standing in the middle room.

“What were you doing with that boy?” asked Dragono immediately.

Dragono’s eyes looked flat. It seemed he understood the information from me.

“Thank you, Mr. Dragono. Last night Moi had asked to be open the internet access by Jeff for taking references as material for Moi’s work. After this we go to Angel’s room. I beg for Angel, Moi needs calmness. Angel is easily depressed.” I said slowly and softly. 

Angel’s room was next to Ron’s room. I slowly opened the door. 

“Morning, Angel.” I greeted. 

Angel did not respond, her eyes stared straight at the wall. I saw my orange scarf lying on her bed near the pillow. 

“How was your sleep, Angel? Did you sleep well?” I continued asking for her attention. 

“Moi is sitting here, Angel.” I glanced at Dragono. The man stood not far from me, his hands folded in front of his chest that is muscular.  

I looked at Angel. The girl’s face looked haggard and tired. Maybe last night after I asked for leave, Angel lacked sleep. 

I can understand. Angel faced a lot of pressure in the past and also torture from her father, moreover bullying from her friends. Angel became moody. 

“Have you had breakfast, Angel? Is it delicious to have breakfast today?” I said in a cheerful tone.

I had to know where Angel can get a comfortable place. 

In handling past trauma, I had previously hypnotized looking for a safe place.

Safe place for someone individually was different. Some liked mountains, some liked sea as Ronald, Childhood place, and mother’s carrying/hug, and so on. 

Like Ron just now, boy Indigo, his safe place was the sea that delivered calm waves. 

When had entered into a safe place, I would give the suggestion. Ron I gave motivation to calm down, so that his aggressiveness was muffled.

There was motivation to be champion, wants to achievement, inner calm, therapists guide and suggested to getting stronger, more active in achievement and achieving their goals. 

As I had practiced with my college friends.

 “Angel, Moi wants to be your best friend.” I asked her. 

Angel’s eyes flickered slowly as if pervading my words. Curling eyelashes seen to move slowly.

“Didn’t we become friends?” Angel asked back, her eyes fixed on the gonzo doll she was hugging. 

“Only Moi calls me Angel while others often call Angel as Curly… Moi appreciates Angel.” said Angel, hugging the doll tighter. 

“Maybe they call you Curly because Angel is beautiful, very beautiful and because Angel is unique and everyone has different gifted, Angel Taheytappi.” I said, mentioning Angel’s full name. 

“Even Moi knows Angel’s full name…” Angel said as if mumbling. 

I smiled. The data that was surrendered to me was always used by me to attract empathy. Even in a week Angel would have a birthday was also known by me and I bought a gift that I bought online yesterday when satellite internet access opened by Jeff. 

I hold Angel’s hand, Angel responds to hold my hand slowly and gradually hold my hand tighter.

“Is there something, Angel?” I asked in wonder, when her grasp got stronger. Angel’s eyes seemed to glance at my hand. 

“Angel can feel Moi’s happiness. How happy you and your family are… Ooh, Angel saw you in a soft sofa, green sofa, shade, family warmth, safety, good environment. Moi slept well there, even though your parents were busy working, cuddling your little brother.”

I was stunned. Through the tight hand grasp that happened, it turned out that Angel walked into my past, my childhood. I actually get an idea where Angel’s safe place can be found.

“Does Angel want Moi’s happiness? Angel, close your eyes. Be relaxed. Now imagine in a furniture store there is a soft green sofa. Imagine that Angel on the green sofa. Yeah, Angel feels the soft green sofa. Angel feels safe there.” 

Angel with her eyes closed seemed happy. Her lips formed a thin smile.

“Angel, every time you breathe in, you get more comfortable, ok. Feel peace in that place, Angel. Inhale slowly, exhale slowly. Feel peace when Angel took a breath and exhaled. And Angel’s feeling more peaceful. Deeper, Angel. Yah, enter more peacefully. Feel peace there, Angel.” 

“When you see a green sofa or a green thing, you remember… that Angel has had peace. Angel has a feeling of safety as well as happiness.” 

Angel’s tears slowly flowed down on her cheeks. Her tears were like crystal flowed down to her chubby and tan colored cheeks. Happy tears. 

I saw Dragono holding his chin. His expression seriously looked at us both in turn. I hugged Angel. Her body felt warm. I felt her warm tears trickling down my shoulders. Maybe Angel had not felt love for a long time.She was very thirsty for affection. 

Almost 2 hours I was in Angel’s room. 

I was pleased with the progress made. Angel seemed calmer and more spirited now. The look in her eyes seemed to sparkle, and her lips looked a faint smile. 

“Now Angel feels comfortable, don’t you? Do you want to watch television or listen to the radio? Moi has to go because Moi wants to complete Moi’s task. Okay Angel, Moi goes back first. See you later.” 

Angel blinked and wiped her cheeks.

“Yes, Moi. See you again. Thank you for being Angel’s best friend.”

When we came out of Angel’s room Dragono said,

“You’re great too, Kid. I’ve never seen Curly as calm as and smiling like that.” 

“Angel has been suffering for too long, Mr. Dragono. Throughout her life she was always overshadowed by fear and suffering. Just now Moi gave therapy so that her soul was at peace and her bitter past could be lost. Thank you for accompanying Moi, Mr. Dragono. Next, Moi will process the data first, Mr. Dragono.” I nodded and walked towards my room. 

Chapter 13 Who should I trust?

Vicko shouted at me, 

“Come back to your home! Before it’s too late, little girl! You were chosen to work here, not coincidentally. Like your father, you will be a victim of a conspiracy!” 

Vicko’s words were like lightning to me, but the next words were not heard, because the soldiers had muzzled his mouths and covered his eyes with black cloth.

Vicko was escorted away before my observation session was over. My form sheet and psychotest haven’t been filled by Vicko, it were mess on the floor. 

Mrs. Rose was standing beside me. 

“From the glass I saw Vicko’s face as if he would be angry. His expression was so serious and scary. I’m worried you’re injured. So I ask Lord Jonah to finish your session. Are you okay, Moi?” A pair of eyes Mrs. Rose glared at me, as if to make sure I wasn’t scared. 

I nodded. Today was full of events that make it hard for me to think, Vicko’s words really shook me. You couldn’t trust anyone here. 

“I’m fine, Mrs. Rose. I think I need to take a break immediately then pursue all my duties before I report to Lord Jonah tomorrow afternoon.” 

Mrs. Rose held my arm,

“I ask, because I care about you, Moi. Don’t let Vicko play you. Don’t you be adrift because of his words. He’s a psychiatric master paltering with your soul, Moi. You can share with me. I am your friend. You can trust me.” 

When she continued to urge me with her questions, I dodged by saying, 

“Sorry, Mrs. Rose. Moi has to go back to my room. Moi is very tired. Moi needs to complete all of Moi’s work tonight. See you tomorrow morning, ok? ” 

“Hey, kid. I ask tomorrow afternoon at 05.00 p.m, you present your report in this investigation room.” Lord Jonah’s voice boomed through the speakers in the observation room.

I was silent for a moment. Before meeting with Vicko, Lord Jonah asked for a report only, now asked me for a presentation. 

I nodded my head towards the observation room, where Lord Jonah was. There was no point in arguing with someone who had a dominant and authoritative character. 

I cleaned my files and left the investigation room. Right now my mind was bored and engulfed in doubt, unable to trust anyone on this island. 

I knew Mrs. Rose continued to stare at my back until I closed the door. I realized that by meeting with many of the residents of this island like a puzzle piece that began to fuse. 

Arriving at the front door of my room, I was stunned… A scene like a movie cinema was seen in my mind. I saw Mrs. Rose and Lord Jonah were still in the observation room, they seemed to be standing face to face. 

That was when I heard the conversation between Mrs Rose and Lord Jonah.

“Vicko must have shaken her by saying something, Rose.” said Lord Jonah. 

“She is still young. The Vicko she faced, in the eyes of Moira like a god.” said Mrs. Rose 

“Like a god? What does it mean?” Lord Jonah’s voice sounded wondered. 

“Well, that… everything that Vicko possessed, in Moira’s eyes was incredible. His fighting ability, biological expertise in making biological poisons, moreover his knowledge in psychology.” explained Mrs. Rose 

“Make sure she isn’t manipulated by Vicko, Rose! Vicko can kill us through that kid. That kid can be used against us. Whether she’s entrusted with biological poisons to kill us or told by Vicko to smuggle something.” Lord Jonah said firmly, his face looked annoyed.

“I think we don’t need to be too paranoid, Lord Jonah. You can see by yourself, they talked for a long time. Later, I will try to know what Vicko said to Moira.” 

The scene and hearing suddenly stopped.

I was stunned, the voice and scene was seen and heard clearly in my mind. I opened the door of my room and immediately entered. 

I was much wondered why I could have new abilities without learning?

I was reminded, why Mrs. Rose was wants to know everything what I talking about with Vicko. Mrs. Rose was very sure that Vicko had said something to me. She insisted for sharing information with her, which she would convey to the Chimera boss later, Lord Jonah.

And I must be strong right now. Mrs. Rose was not a trusted friend. 

After two tiring observations with Leman and Vicko today, I was still pursuing a report to be presented tomorrow to Lord Jonah. I need to calm down in the room. 

In the room, I laid my body, the burden of my mind I unraveled slowly. I focused on myself to reflect who I can trust now from the events related to Vicko. 

My mind thought about Mrs. Rose, she was so enthusiastic about asking what Vicko said to me during the session this afternoon. She also wondered why I dared to be alone with Vicko. 

I had to dare to make a decision after the first Vicko test results showed his personality was normal, not psychopathic. 

I thought Vicko manipulating the results of the next test because he had a purpose. Rather than trusting and following Lord Jonah’s advice, better I risked trusting Vicko. Slamming the microphone in front of Vicko was also a strategy for Vicko to trust me. 

The risk of death that confronted me, both from Lord Jonah and Vicko, was the same for me, so I risked taking Vicko’s side by destroying the microphone in front of him. 

And my awareness arose. I had to meet with many people on this island immediately then filtered the info from them, so that the truth would soon be revealed, why I was here. 

Meanwhile my respect for Mrs. Rose had fallen. Yah, my trust in that beautiful woman fell. For me, Mrs. Rose was an accomplice of Lord Jonah, the cruel leader of the Chimera Island. 

I had to fight for myself. I walked into the room where Jeff works. I need a lot of references about all the metaphysical abilities of the residents of this island, so that my presentation was logical and in accordance with my knowledge.

Jeff was sitting in the monitor room at the front.it seemed he was aware of my arrival. It was proven he wasn’t surprised when I opened the door. Maybe the screen of CCTV showed my figure heading to his room. 

“Hmm, what do you need?” said Jeff flatly, while his face still focused with the tablet in his hand.

“I need internet connection, Jeff to complete the task from Lord Jonah. I have a lot of references to upload, I ask for the password.” 

“How long do you need? The password has changed systemically, tomorrow at 6 am. This is the security standard here. If you use more than 6 am tomorrow, you must ask for the password again to me. Understand?” Jeff explained while he handed a piece of paper containing the Wi-Fi password.  

“OkayJeff, I’ll speed up to finish at this night, good evening.” I replied.

I said it as smooth as possible, considering I needed it in internet access. Jeff didn’t answer me, his face focused back into the tablet. I left him. 

I opened my laptop, waiting for it to turn on. 

Again, my mind was spinning. Vicko knew my father. Everything Vicko said was astounding and tiring, like playing chess Vicko had thought about 5 steps forward, while I was only a step or two steps forward.

Knock… knock… knock… 

Someone knocked on my door.

“Moi, may I come in?” that was Mrs. Rose’s voice 

“I want to rest first, Mrs. Rose.” I said without opening the room door key. 

“So tired, huh?”

“Yes, Mrs. Rose. I’ll see you in the dining room tonight.” 

“Alright,see you later, Moi.” Said Mrs. Rose softly.

I was very relieved, because Mrs. Rose did not insist on entering my room. 

Shadows flashed again quickly in my mind, like a movie playing.

Rado said,

“But know, you were in the wrong place and the wrong time.” 

Leman said, 

“You go to the wrong way. Go home as possible as you can” 

Vicko said, 

“Little girl, realize it. You are in a big conspiracy! Think about why you got here.”

Why was I here? Of course because I was cumlaude and Chimera through the mediator, Mrs. Rose recruited me. Even my thesis supervisor, Prof. Julian, recommended Chimera to me.  

“By signing this contract, you are not only a candidate for the nation’s servant but also a patriot candidate, Moira.” That was what Mrs. Rose said last time. 

Then Prof. Julian’s words when calling, 

“Yes, she has been here.” 

She meant of course me. 

Gosh, what the heck. Everything seemed to know me. All fixed on me, my mind became chaotic. 

Both Leman and Vicko knew something. They both asked me to leave this place.

Ah… 

Vicko…

That person hadn’t answered my question. Was it true that my father here too? Could he was… Had ever visited, kept or… even occupied one of the cells in the chimera? 

I brushed aside my negative thoughts, my mind wandered again. 

Then Henry said, 

“There will be a flood of blood here.” 

Henry heard something with his telepathic abilities. Horror by horror as if it were arranged increasingly peaked when I arrived on this island. 

“Alas! Why should I be here? Perhaps… is it true that I was chosen from the beginning to enter this Chimera, whether I’m cumlaude or not? If so, why?”

“Ah… that’s impossible or is there someone who can manipulate my brain?” 

I stupefied. I remembered Henry. He… he… was able to teleport with me, but it was impossible he sent that dream, because our vibrations had been not same and hadn’t know each other at that time. 

Vicko said, 

“My advice is to leave this island, before you are killed, Little Girl!” hearing again with the intonation of Vicko’s words. 

This was too crazy. I was chosen from the beginning. My mind indicted myself. 

“Captain Gepardi? Hhmm… I know him, Little Girl.” Vicko’s words echoed again.

“There is a common thread in this conspiracy, but what?” I forced my head to think. 

Everything revolved confusing.

“Moi… Moira… yahoooi…” Henry called me in his telepathic voice in my head.  

“Don’t bother me now, Hen. Please, I need to finish the task of Lord Jonah tonight.” I asked. 

“Don’t force you to think too hard, take a rest.” pleaded Henry.

“Can you be quiet first, please? Don’t bother me yet, Henry!” I snapped.

“Oh, sorry… sorry, ok.” Henry’s voice disappeared from my head.

I just had yelled at Henry harshly whereas that man was advising me to rest well. 

Ah, next time I would apologize to him. Right now I really wanted to be alone. The task of Lord Jonah was really hard, now he was asking me for a presentation tomorrow afternoon. Huuft… 

Mrs. Rose’s words whirled in my mind,

“You’ve been chosen. There’s no turning back. We can get through this together.” 

The words of Lord Jonah who intimidated my family echoed again and hurt my heart, 

“You, your mother who is a tutored teacher, and your skinny little brother, little Bill, will be fought by Vicko.” 

Both Mrs. Rose and Lord Jonah had known my whole family well. They studied me, my father and my family from the beginning, even the terrible threat was also directed at my family. 

Oh… I was shaken up.

I was worried that what I had accessed was spied upon by Jeff.

I also shopped for my needs on the online site and addressed it to my mother’s house, so that later it can be brought by Lord Jonah in 6 days. Then I asked my father’s handkerchief to be brought to me.

Yah, I hope Angel Curly or Risty. Who know they can find out where father was. Was he still alive? Or had…  

I reasoned to my mother that father’s handkerchief to strengthen me here, besides treating my longing for father also raised my mentally because I was a soldier’s daughter.

“Hi, Moi. It’s late at night, I brought your dinner ration before the kitchen is empty and there is no food in the kitchen.” Said Mrs. Rose sweetly.

“Oh, is it troublesome, Mrs. Rose? Sorry, Moi just entered the data and processed Moi’s presentation about the gifted ones who are here.” I said while receiving a tray of food. 

I walked and put the tray on my wardrobe. Mrs. Rose came into my room and sat on the edge of my bed. 

“Do you still have a lot of work, Moi?” Rose looked into my laptop which was still on.

“Yes, Mrs. Rose still has a lot, and it’s very hard for me. Once practice that I faced is complex. I will continue it.” I answered then I sat down to continue my work on the laptop. 

We were in the room together. Mrs. Rose did not speak after that. I was serious about my laptop, Mrs. Rose sat with her feet shaking occasionally.

About half an hour later Mrs. Rose stood up. 

“Okay, I’ll leave Moi. Have a nice job and don’t forget to eat so that it doesn’t hurt and get dizzy. Good night.” She said while closing the door of my room slowly. 

“Good evening Mrs. Rose, thank you for being accompanied.” I said while looking at the door. 

After midnight I just ate my dinner, after that I came out with my tray to return to the kitchen.

After returning the tray, I walked to the middle room, to Angel’s room. 

When I opened the room I saw Angel sitting down, her position curled up with a gonzo doll, her eyes blank looking at the floor. 

“Angel, why are you sitting down again…? It’s cold. Let’s wake up… Moi accompany you on the bed.” I say, lifting Angel’s body.

Angel shuffled, slowly I guided her to sit on the bed, we sat side by side on the edge of his bed. 

When I sat with Angel, that girl asked, 

“Between Mrs. Rose and Moi, are you having a problem?” 

“What? Between us?Uhm… yah… just a little different opinion, Angel.” I said carefully to choose my words. 

“Your relationship is not as warm as usual.” said Angel slowly, her eyes fixed on the wall. 

I thought, indeed interacting with the gifted one was better open and honest as it is, because Angel cold look into the past. I felt she had seen what happened. 

“When Moi held Angel, that incident… crossed Angel’s mind.” Angel continued as if she knew my surprise. 

I closed my eyes. Angel’s feelings were very sensitive.

“Yes… Angel understands, everyone needs privacy. And all humans also have the right to choose with whom he will be friends and believe. Angel decides to believe in Moi. Angel wants to share info with you.” 

I put my arm around Angel’s shoulder, 

“Info? What information, Angel? Moi deserves to be trusted.” 

Angel looked down. The gonzo doll was hugged by her tighter. Her legs crossed tightly. It seen there was a burden in her.

“After Lord Jonah returns from the capital, it is next week, and then in the morning there will be another duel.” 

I stunned, it was so easy to Lord Jonah to get fighters to fight until death. This week… 

“Angel knew this when soldier Rupert delivered my meal today, accidentally Angel touched his hand. Angel could see Rupert also present at Lord Jonah’s meeting. The meeting discussed the duel.There were two fighters who had been prepared, this week. They are against Vicko and Leman.”

Chapter 12 Vicko The Genius Psychopath

Mrs. Rose kept walking without turning her head, then answered,

“Just calm down Moi, just do your job well, then we will give extraordinary thing to you. If your job is successful, you will get an award so that you are enthusiastic about working. And do not ask what the prize is. Must prize be told what it contains?” 

I was silent, not knowing what else to say. Suddenly…

“Moi.Hi, Moi. How are you?” Henry’s voice slipped through my mind.

“Yes Hen, you are my best friend. I will be under tight guard later in the investigation room, don’t worry.” 

Thank God, Henry didn’t talk more to me. My energy was drained this noon, moreover meeting the genius Vicko after this. 

At 2.00 p.m I and Mrs. Rose were ready in the observation room. I scanned my fingerprint to open the door, the room where Rado ever we observed. From this room I can see through one side of the glass, that the investigation room was still empty. 

The door opened, Dragono and Lord Jonah entered the observation room, where I and Mrs. Rose were. 

“I will always monitor you. If Vicko misbehaves, we will be ready to handle it. Later both of you in the investigation room, I and Lord Jonah will monitor you here.” said Dragono.

“I prepared an electronic gun to blow up the animal’s head if he suddenly got angry. Only me can use this gun, because it is scanned with my fingerprints.” said Lord Jonah.

Crakkk, the sound of a gun being cocked by Lord Jonah.

My emotions arose when I saw him cock the gun, 

“Lord Jonah, you are the one who stimulates him to be an animal and keep in mind that person who rely on the gun will die from the gun.” 

Lord Jonah turned away, his face flat looking at me. I saw his eyes full of hatred at me,

His eyes looked at me sharply, defiantly, and deeply into my eyeballs. I could catch a flash of hatred in Lord Jonah’s eyes. 

Suddenly Lord Jonah said, 

“Kid, how if I plan that Vicko’s seventeenth match is Vicko against you? Or your mother the tutoring teacher? Or… it could be William, Little Bill, your skinny little brother?” Lord Jonah grinned and then pointed at my face.

“Hahaha, I’m sure Vicko would not mind at all if he fights all three of you at once. Ah… surely the match will be so cool. Think about it, kid!” The tip of his lips were pulled down while Lord Jonah’s arm akimbo.

I looked at the monitor, it seen Dragono was hitting an iron cell door. He opened a small window in the middle of the iron door. There were two arms outstretched with back position, for a moment the arms were handcuffed by two soldiers, they were Codi and Albert. 

Shortly thereafter, the iron door of the cell was opened and appeared a figure of body quickly apprehended. His body appeared small but muscular in the crowd of Dragono, Codi and Albert, he was… Vicko! 

Dragono suppressed Vicko’s mouth from behind with a mask similar to a police anti-riot mask. 

Codi and Albert put an iron bar wedge between Vicko’s armpits. It was very extra treatment, so that Vicko had limited his movement. 

“You see, kid. We don’t want to mess with Vicko. His whole body can become a weapon. Even his head can gore and break the bones of the nose. Don’t think of it like ordinary martial arts abilities. His movement is quick to injure his enemy.” 

I nodded. At the moment it can only follow what Lord Jonah think, because I had to focus on Vicko. Mistake of diplomacy with Vicko could be fatal for me. 

I took my breath. I had to appear relaxed in front of Vicko later. I pulled my lips several times to smile. 

The door of the investigation room opened. Vicko with his eyes closed and mouth suppressed, accompanied by Codi and Albert. 

“Vicko come, we are ready to come in, Moi. Prepare your mental, don’t be afraid.” whispered Mrs. Rose 

 “Yes, Mrs. Rose.” I said, trembling slightly. 

Vicko was seated, so I and Mrs. Rose came to him. 

We sat facing each other separated by table in front of me. I and Mrs. Rose sat in front of him.

Vicko’s headgear was removed. Vicko’s eyes blinked looking at Mrs. Rose and me. His eyes look was flat, while Codi and Albert were standing behind him, still holding the iron bar and Vicko’s shoulders. 

“Good evening Vicko. Let me introduce, this is Moira.” Mrs. Rose opened the conversation. 

I nodded while saying,

“Good evening Mr. Vicko, I’m Moira, nice to meet you.” 

“Mr. Codi and Mr. Albert, please take off his mouth mask, also all the ties of Mr. Vicko.” I asked. 

The faces of the two soldiers became tense. 

“Miss, are you crazy? He is dangerous!” said Codi. 

“Miss Moi, yesterday you were present during the Vicko match, he was the most dangerous human on this island. Even in the previous battle Vicko bit the eyes of his dying enemy.” Albert insisted. His eyes were narrowing sharply towards me, a sign of his disapproval at my command.

Mrs. Rose who sat beside me, turned her head to me. Her hand also poked my thigh, as a sign of her disapproval of my actions. 

“Moi…” she said while staring at me.

Her mouth was hanging open as if he didn’t believe in my desperation, wanting to be alone with Vicko in one room. 

“I’m here to work, Mrs. Rose. You know that I need Mr. Vicko’s trust. Like your profession as a psychiatrist, isn’t it based on trust? And how does Mr. Vicko come to believe me, when his mouth is closed like this and his body is bound uncomfortable?” I explained to Mrs. Rose 

 I stood up, realized I had to take action and said loudly while my face was fixed on the glass of the observation room. 

“Lord Jonah, I want to talk privately with Mr. Vicko.” 

“You mean?” asked Lord Jonah via the interphone.

“The relationship between client and psychologist is private. We ask for trust only between me and Mr. Vicko in this room.”  

Dragono rushed into the investigation room and his hand pointed at my face, 

“You can’t, kid! You haven’t been a psychologist. You’re a new psychologist graduated! To hell with your code of ethics! It is my duty to maintain the security of all residents here. Including you!”

 “Nevemind, Dragono. Let that chit work. Get out of there, you are also Codi, Albert.” said Lord Jonah via the interphone. 

I was sure the Chimera leader wasn’t worried at all if Vicko did something to me. Instead the man would cheer for joy, because he was free from the critic like me. 

A firm voice was heard again, 

“Just obey the kid’s request, Codi! Albert! Get out of there.” Lord Jonah’s voice rose through the interphone from behind the observation glass. 

“Yes, Lord Jonah!” Codi and Albert replied together.

Vicko’s mask was carefully released from his mouth, and then the iron bar wedge was released from his armpits, the two soldiers walked backwards while preparing the pistol with the tip of an electric. 

The guns were held by these two soldiers were different from those held by Lord Jonah. This gun was intended to produce electric shocks aimed to paralyze, while the gun carried by Lord Jonah was a gun containing deadly bullets.

Vicko’s eyes looked at me, as if probing, it seen from the motion of his eyeballs though faintly. There was a faint smile on Vicko’s face, his hands placed on the table. 

“You are too, Rose!” Lord Jonah’s voice was heard again. 

Mrs. Rose tapped my right shoulder once. That woman slowly got up for standing, nodded to Vicko as if leaving over my life on Vicko and stepped out of the room and closed the door. 

It was heard Dragono asked, maybe because of his position was close to the microphone, so that his voice was heard throughout the observation room.

“How is Moira killed by Vicko?”

“Never mind, find someone else. We can throw the corpse into the sea, the business is over.” said Lord Jonah. 

I realized that Lord Jonah held a grudge against me, while I felt the turmoil of anger in my chest.

“Lord Jonah, this is your microphones. Just cut my salary next month.” I stood up while removing the microphone attached to my hair bun and the transmitter attached to my belt. 

“What! The microphones are released…” heard Dragono’s voice in shocked.

“This kid has her own style.” murmured Lord Jonah. 

“Lord Jonah, don’t forget to turn off your mike, your voices can be heard from here.” I said while raising the microphone and the transmitter. 

Baam!!

Baam!!

I slammed the tool repeatedly on the table. The microphone and transmitter were broken on a heavy iron table, in front of Vicko. 

A flash of thought about avarice Lord Jonah, Degardo death, especially the threat against the two closest people in my life, feeling manipulated, it all made my anger soared.

I wondered what would happen if Lord Jonah got angry later. My brutal anger this time exceeded my common sense.

I saw Vicko gasped. His head was slightly backward, though his expression did not change. His eyes looked at me coldly and his palms formed a triangle in front of his face. 

I need to take a stand against Vicko. Vicko was an expert, master of psychology and his experience in recruiting soldiers when he was active. Of course, easily read my expressions and body language, moreover his genius, not a careless man.

The environment was quiet for a moment…

A moment later Vicko clapped a little hand,

“Hahaha, little girl. How can you believe me? You know my reputation. I think you saw my last duel with Degardo in the arena. Your crying was heard throughout the stadium yesterday. And today you just cried again.” said Vicko with a flat face. 

I ignored Vicko’s last sentence, the possibility that my puffy eyes were still be seen. I took my breath, set my feelings, then developed a smile at Vicko, 

“Mr. Vicko, how are you? Now only you and Moi are here, without interruption, without anyone tapping into our conversation. Moi wants to be your friends.” I began the conversation.

Vicko did not answer my greetings. He looked at me intently.

“Ehmm… Mr, Vicko?” 

I wanted to say something, but my attention was on Vicko’s eyes staring at me. I realized what Vicko was doing right now was reading my mind through eye movements, facial expressions, and my body language. 

Vicko seemed to be observing my honesty through the motion of my eyeballs. 

 “The relationship between client and psychologist on trust, Mr. Vicko and there is an ethical code. That’s why Moi released the microphone just now.”

“I see you and Jonah don’t agree, huh?” said Vicko right on target. His eyes were cold. His gaze was sharp. 

 Vicko still read my body language, I thought. I had scientific similarities with Vicko in psychology. I very realized that my knowledge and experience were very different from his, even arguably Vicko deserved to be my lecturer. So I had to be honest in front of him, if my body language or micro expression implied dishonesty can eliminate Vicko’s trust in me, even I can be killed. 

 “Moi and Lord Jonah have many opposing opinions.” I said carefully choosing my words. 

“Hahaha… little girl. Clearly he dislikes you. You are considered his enemy. I’m really curious, what have you done to him? Jonah can hurt you and the impact can be very severe.” 

Dup! I choked with Vicko’s words.

I was stunned. indeed I was too careful in talking to him, remembering his great reputation. 

“Thank you for your trust in Moi, Mr. Vicko. Many things I must learn from you.” I replied with a smile. 

“Hmm, unfortunately you don’t like self-defense, girl. Your crotch is narrow, your wrists are small. Looks like you used to suck food when you were child, your jaw doesn’t develop.” I was again stunned by the greatness of his commentary on my physical signs, which reflected my childhood habits and my dislike of martial arts.

“How can Mr. Vicko know… just by glancing at me, sir…” my words choked.

I felt that Vicko talked a lot to demean me, test my honesty or explore my intelligence? I must optimize this conversation so that I got important information from him. 

“Mr. Vicko is incredible.” I praised. 

I was confused what would i ask for getting more information from him. 

Then Vicko asked, 

“Then did anyone in your family join the military, given your courage to face Jonah?”

“My father is a marine. His name is Gepardi. His last position is Captain Marine. Unfortunately, my daddy was missing in action two years ago.” 

Vicko nodded his head, his head tilted to the left as if pensive, 

“Captain Gepardi? Hmm… I know him, little girl.” 

I was so surprised. As if there was lightning striking above my head. My eyes sparkled, 

“Mr. Vicko… knows my dad?” 

“Right now is not the right time to talk about your father. There are things that I cannot say. It can hurt you. It’s very deep.”

I was stunned, the interaction with Vicko made me dizzy. It turned out my lost father was not a distant person for Vicko.

“Then now because you have to work. You start your work. Do you want to ask me some questions? I’m not used to taking orders from people whose the level is below me, moreover a runny girl like you. But because you dare to take the risk of opposing Jonah, I respect your orders.”

I nodded. 

“Moi was asked to record everyone in Chimera. This data is for further research. Moi wants Mr. Vicko to fill out this form, and this test. This is a formality here. As Mr. Vicko knows, we are being watched from behind the glass. So, please cooperate, sir. Do it for Moi, so that Moi won’t be blamed by Lord Jonah.” I demanded, handing my form in the front of him. 

Vicko smiled. His Rows of teeth are neat. In the corner of his left lip there was a dry wound, the scars from yesterday’s battle. Vicko glanced at me while looking at the forms and psychological tests I gave. 

“As you know, I’ve been challenged 16 times. I don’t know how long I will be lucky to win. Losing in that arena means losing lives. Right now we can sit facing each other chatting, whether tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. You have known that the leader here is abnormal, isn’t it? But he has shown my new identity document, I must win in two more battles, to get my freedom. That is my goal to stay alive.”

“Yes, Mr. Vicko, Moi realizes it. Now Moi wants to ask important question before the test is done, sir.”

“Hmm… what’s your question, girl?”

“Moi’s question is why did you manipulate the test results? To be declared a psychopath?”

Vicko’s eyeballs shifted quickly, I saw his pupils dilate there, Vicko was shocked, 

“Hmm… apparently you have traced my initial psychology results, huh… You’re a smart girl.” 

“Moi also needs to continue my life, Mr. Vicko. It turns out working here is like signing a death contract. Moi has traced your test history. And Moi found that the first test at the beginning you became a soldier, there were no psychiatric lapses. With your genius and your psychological expertise, you manipulate the next test.” 

“You must have a purpose for manipulating this test, after all from your DNA report, there are no chromosomal aberrations that could potentially make you be a psychopath.” I said slowly and carefully. 

“I ask you, what is the title of your thesis?” Vicko asked back. His face still flat liked a poker player who didn’t want to know the card he was holding, bad or good. 

“Ehmm… Hypnotherapy as a Support for Abnormal Psychology Healing.” I answered while thinking that Vicko was exploring my academic abilities. 

“Hmm… from the title of the thesis, I know you are a great graduate, and you are also trying to read my body language. What can you do, girl, I have exceeded it.” 

I smiled. Indeed, if a person who can hypnotize needs to learn body language in order to know the hypnotized person goes into its suggestions. 

“Yes, Mr. Vicko. Moi knows that. You are Moi’s senior in psychology. Mr. Vicko is like a lecturer for Moi.” 

Vicko said while still staring at my eyeballs. 

“This is between us, Moi. I concluded that this research was related to the power of the mind. And I am considered one of the objects of research here, but you must know that this research is dangerous to humanity. Biopsychology about the functions of the human brain developed. You and I are ordinary people who can learn and develop the power of the mind.”

I tried to listen and pay close attention to what Vicko said. 

Vicko used psychological pressure to me. I was required to always speak what as was, because of it I did not want to lie. He easily read my body language. 

“The relation with the military, the ability of the human subconscious, the power of the mind, is very powerful when combined. If the military succeeds in formulating all metaphysical expertise as a weapon, then only those who are superior can survive. The strong is the winner. Homo hominy lupus happened. The dominant and superior generation will kill ordinary people, in subtle or hard ways through the military.”

“The gap is increasing. People who are now considered normal will look stupid whereas people who have gifted will develop and emerge in this era. You accelerate the destruction of this world, girl. You’re really play fire with civilization, little girl! Your research is the key to the destruction of civilization.” the sentence began to rise, showing his dislike. 

The room returned to silence. For a moment Vicko’s eyes became so sharp, 

“And one more thing, little girl. You keep it a secret that I manipulated psychological tests to become a psychopath.”

“Little girl, realize it. You are in a big conspiracy! Think about why you got here. This research is in the wrong hands. The military leaders who headed this project used it for their own sake. Don’t trust anyone in this place. You have entered too deep in this deadly game!”

“Regarding you manipulating the test, it has been a secret of Moi, Mr. Vicko. so I beg you to trust Moi. And… Conspiracy? What conspiracy is Mr. Vicko, and what death game? Is this also related to Moi’s father, Mr. Vicko?”

 
Vicko was silent. His hands clenched as if holding anger.

“Please, Mr. Vicko. Can you tell me what happened to Moi’s father? You have to reveal the truth, Mr. Vicko, even though it’s bitter for Moi.”

 
Suddenly Vicko threw the test file I prepared on the wall. 

That time Dragono, Codi and Albert came into the room. By gunpoint they forced Vicko to stand up and back away so that he could be handcuffed.

Chapter 11 Leman The Fakir

I and Mrs. Rose came to them. One of Dragono’s hands was put on his hip with arm akimbo, while the other hand rubbed his smooth chin. I felt my body getting smaller in front of him.  

Leman’s cell was located at second from the corner before the entrance of The Arena. The cell was tightly closed like a shop iron door, and there was an iron-framed window at the top of the door.  

The soldier Codi, who was beside Dragono, opened that small window at the door of Leman’s cell. 

Hmm…

Leman the fakir was his nickname, a person who had a high ability to survive, even not eating anything for days, due to loss of self-orientation. 

Leman had a self-defense ability resembling animals in both attack and defense.

I remembered a video on YouTube that a fakir had strange powers such as sleeping on nails, eating broken glass and razor blades. 

Spooky, but did Leman really have such greatness?

I sighed. The ability and problems of the people on this island were very complex. I wished Leman wasn’t busy us.

“Leman! Hey, Leman! There are guests.” shouted the soldier Codi while opening that small window. And the other hand banged on the iron door with a tonfa, interrupting my mind.

“Gosh, Leman!” suddenly Dragono’s mouth said, his eyes widened when he looked at the window.   

I was shocked looking on Dragono’s face. His face had never looked like frightened people. 

I followed to look in the window of Leman’s cell. I was really shocked finding a shirtless man, wearing short faded jeans.  

His body floated above the floor, as if flying, a pair of legs and hands seemed to float in the air while his head drooped in the air, like someone was doing a kayang or backbend.  

Kayang or backbend with floating flying.

Soldier Codi turned the key to open the cell door. Dragono, Mrs. Rose and I went into Leman’s cell carefully.

All of my nape hair was bristling. I had never seen that phenomenon before. In my opinion Leman was experiencing conditions outside of his consciousness.  

it was seen even though his condition was floating and his body was drooping, His eyes looked upside down, only the white color that I saw.   

Leman like being unconscious. His long hair and rather dreadlocks made his face creepy.

“How can it be?” said Dragono made me shocked.

“Leman! Wake up! Hey!” shouted Dragono impatiently from where he stood. 

Leman’s body was still floating, but Leman responded by rolling his eyes. His eyes looked like there was a reddish glow in them.

“How impudent you are! Just slept calmly has been disturbed. What do you want? How dare you all, hah?!” a strange voice came from Leman,  

His tone was very angry. His body slowly moved. Slowly his legs that floated landing down to the floor.

Now his feet were setting foot on the floor normally. His stomach was slender with ribs protruding but from the physical still looked tough muscles.  His forehead was wrinkled, his long curly dreadlocks covered part of his tanned and gaunt face.

He took turns looking at the four of us slowly.

Dragono raised his hands clenched abreast with his head slowly advancing, he received Leman’s challenge. 

“There is no violence. Let me and Moira handle it, ok?” Mrs. Rose was holding the shoulder of Dragono who had prepared his fist. His fist was huge.  

“Shh, Moi. Please get a bottle of mineral water. Ask at the guard post.” said Mrs. Rose looked over at me.  

“Yes, Mrs. Rose.” I replied immediately.  

I came out then immediately returned with a bottle of mineral water that Mrs. Rose asked.  

“This is the water, Mrs. Rose.”

“What hope do you have for Leman, Moi?” whispered Mrs. Rose to me. 

“Leman back to normal,” I said quite confused. 

“Alright. Enter the positive suggestions.” said Mrs. Rose  

“What do you mean?”

“Come on. Say positive words to this water media like you suggest to the person you are hypnotic.” Mrs. Rose said.

He handed the bottle of mineral water back into my hand.

 “Yes, Mrs. Rose.” I still need time to understand Mrs. Rose’s words.

“Don’t hesitate, Moi. Come on, put the positive suggestion in that water in the bottle, and fill it with your expectation that Leman is back to normal.”   

“Grrrr…” Leman growled eerily. 

Both his hands made movement such as flapping wings, while one of his legs raised high.

For a moment I was silent, and then focused looking and holding the bottle of drinking water tightly, I gave good hopes and desires into the bottle of drinking water.  

“Approach Leman, speak well while you wipe off her face with this water.” whispered Mrs. Rose giving instruction. 

“Bhwaahh… what do you want, Gal?” Leman looked at me fierce.  

I walked slowly to Leman, my courage began to emerge. 

“Mr. Leman, I’m Moira. I want to be a friend of Mr. Leman.” 

“Lheman? I’m not Lheman. I’m the hawk.”  

I walked around Leman, pouring water of the bottle little by little, 

“Come back, Mr. Leman, Mr. Leman who has a body in the center of this water circle. Mr. Leman is entitled to this body, remember Mr. Leman. Your body is Mr. Leman’s. Master your body, Mr. Leman. Come on, wake up. Come back, Mr. Leman.”

Leman’s eyes looked at me sharply. Suddenly Leman fell down. His body floundered on the floor. His hands held his head. 

“Ggrrrr… aarrggg… arrgg…” for a few moments Leman continued to flounder and growl.

I’m pounding, was it true that my suggestion was successful in calling Leman to regain mastering of his own body?

At this moment Leman was sitting down. His eyes opened slowly. Her pupils had returned to their proper position. His eyes were reddish like there were embers in them, seemed to fade away.

I almost cheered with relief. The real Leman was back.  

I did it!

I approached him and knelt before Leman, 

“Mr. Leman, I’m Moira. Please drink, sir.” 

I said softly, holding out a mineral bottle which was still filled with a quarter of water.

“Ah, yah… yah…” Leman said absentmindedly. He received the bottle I gave and drank its contents.

“I’m Moira. I beg for permission to become a friend, Mr. Leman.” I said.

Leman looked at me with his focused eyes. His eyes blinked, 

“Little girl, you’re in the wrong place. Be careful girl, here is not your place.” 

I was stunned. Astonishment covered me, Leman’s voice returned to normal, and the sentence he gave was similar to the warnings I had received before.

“Now I work here, Mr. Leman. Moira gets an official assignment from the government.”

“You’re still so young, girl. Do not just because of money, you go to the wrong way. Go home as possible as you can.” Leman said while looking down slightly.

“It’s ok, Mr. Leman. Mr. Leman can protect Moi, can’t you? There are lots of good friends here to Moi. Moira’s job is only to make notes of activities here. Help Moi, Mr. Leman. Now we will go out first.” interrupted Mrs. Rose while taking my arm to stand up, and then I stood up.

Leman also stood up. His eyes narrowed at me, as if want to talk more.

“See you later, Mr. Leman.” I said.

“Yes… yes…” Leman replied my waving

This noon, my aim to meet Leman was not only to get acquainted but also to record him. but the strange event that had just happened made us have to retreat first.

While Codi and Dragono locked the door of Leman’s cell. I chatted with Mrs. Rose outside.

“Sorry, Mrs. Rose, just now Moi pour the water into the around, not to Mr. Leman’s body. Frankly I’m also afraid.” I said.

“Yes, it doesn’t matter. It’s proven that your suggestion is right and strong, Moi.”

“What I’m afraid is meeting Vicko, Mrs. Rose. I’m really nervous right now.”

“Take it easy, Moi. You are not alone. I’ll keep you company, really.”

“Before meeting Vicko in the investigation room, you are requested to meet Lord Jonah in the monitor room. I’ll prepare Vicko.” Dragono told us.

“Yes, thank you, Mr. Dragono.” I said.

Meeting Lord Jonah?

Unpleasant thing for me, what did that sadistic dictator want from me?

Dragono and Codi walked behind me, as if telling me to hurry and meet his lord.

I speed up my step. I caught a glimpse of Henry’s hand reaching out me when I walked past him.

“Hi, pretty. Stop by here, I miss.” he exclaimed spoiled.

I smiled a little at him. My mind began to heavy remembering that soon meeting the most powerful and also annoying person on this island. 

Lord Jonah.

“Sorry Mrs. Rose. Why does Lord Jonah want to meet me?” I whispered to Mrs. Rose

“Maybe a little simple insight Moi. I also don’t know what he wants to say.” Answered Mrs. Rose

We walked towards the monitor room where Jeff used to work there. When we entered the room, it seen Lord Jonah and Jeff were watching the monitor of CCTV.

“Good afternoon, Lord Jonah.” I said, opening the conversation.

Lord Jonah did not budge, as if ignoring my greeting. His eyes remained focused watching the monitor screen.

Dragono approached the monitor. apparently Lord Jonah and Jeff were watching Vicko’s cell activities.

“Hmmm, Vicko is exercising regularly.” said Dragono.

“Dragono, notice his movements. By utilizing his body without tools, the Vicko can maintain his strength and greatness in fighting.”

I looked at the monitor, there I saw Vicko doing push up with a hand clenched fist. How strong he was.

“Jeff, this part you saved for my documentation file, then you email.” ordered Lord Jonah.

“Yes, Lord Jonah.” said Jeff shortly while pressing the computer keyboard quickly.

Jeff was seen to be very obedient to the authoritarian Chimera leader. 

My heart was getting disturbed.

Did the status of detainees in Chimera make a person have no privacy?

Lord Jonah was truly a person who didn’t respect for human beings.

“Sorry, Lord Jonah. Is it not excessive, if a cell occupant here doesn’t have privacy?”  

I ventured to ask that dictator. For a moment Lord Jonah glanced at me. He took a breath with a glance at his eyes. 

He said,

“Kid, what can be expected from a psychopath like him? His brain is still in his head. He should be grateful because I don’t shoot his head.”

I gasped. Lord Jonah always relied on his authority on this island. In fact he was a psychopath, not Vicko.

“He is a human sir. He has privacy right.” 

“Kid, remember Vicko is no anyone. He has no identity. He should have been killed two years ago, when he was declared desertion.” the tone of Lord Jonah’s voice rose, while Jeff who sat next to him seemed to glance at me.

“And I observe that you really dislike me, kid. That is your right and you will meet with Vicko soon. I hope you will follow our security advice. Even if you die in his hands, I’m just happy. So, lessen one hater of me.”

I tried to hold back my emotions. Felt my tears came out in the corner of my eyes. I held it in order not to spill by biting my own lips.

“I think Moi wants to obey your words, Lord Jonah. She’s a good girl.” Mrs. Rose tried to intercede.

“Listen to me, kid! Make sure your report is on my desk tomorrow evening. Presented completely!” snapped Lord Jonah. The look in his eyes was very sharp when he saw me. The whole of my joints seemed to slip from my body.

“Yes, Lord Jon… nah.” I replied weakly and trembling.

At glance I saw Jeff’s face smiling as if he was supporting the behavior of Lord Jonah to me.

“Dragono, you prepare Vicko. Jeff, give the file to that kid, so that the kid work immediately and get out from here.” Lord Jonah ordered firmly.

Jeff gave me a folder, while Dragono swiftly left the room. Mrs. Rose’s Hand pulled my arm after we asked for leave to the arrogant ruler.

We walked hand in hand towards the investigation room. It was felt heavy my steps.

I was also shocked when Lord Jonah said there was a secret file of the Chimera Project, what file was that?

“Hopefully Vicko doesn’t act up, Mrs. Rose. I’m really tired.”

“Come on, where is your spirit? Soon you will meet the god of this island.” said Mrs. Rose teased me. 

I nudged Mrs. Rose’s rib slowly. I remembered, I called out Vicko as a god when Mrs. Rose did presentation on campus.

Mrs. Rose laughed.

 “The previous personalities were also identical with the god, Mrs. Rose. Their abilities are very rare, but truly real. And you are also a goddess, Mrs. Rose Throw heavy objects only with the power of the mind, while I’m just an ordinary little girl.” I said.

That morning, I inched down from Angel’s bed, looked at Angel’s face that was looked peaceful, a smile appeared on her lips. I slowly opened the door, I was surprised, a small man in front of me. 

“Good morning, Mr. No. wow, you’re so excited to mop it up.” I said, covering my mouth because I hadn’t brushed my teeth. 

“Yes, excited to mop, excited, yes.” Mr. No answered spontaneously, even the expression on his face did not change when he answered me, remained flat and his face looked down engrossed with his mop stick. 

I rushed back to my room, had to get ready immediately, before Mrs. Rose picked me up for breakfast together. 

Hmm… There was still half an hour left to take a shower and get dressed up. It was enough.

While waking up from sleep this morning, all the burden of thoughts began to come to me one by one, starting from my work that faced various gifted ones with each problem, moreover my desire to ask Angel about my father. 

Oh, I’d better not to think than making me depressed, I brushed aside the thoughts that burdened me. 

Exactly, half an hour later, the door of my room was knocked. Mrs. Rose’s fresh face greeted me. I left the room, while Mrs. Rose sat at the porch front of my room. I also sat next to Mrs. Rose.

“Moi, this morning we will continue to collect data again. This morning we meet Mr. Anton, and then have breakfast, after that you can record me. After recording me, continue to Leman and then Vicko. But for those two people must be escorted.”

Mrs. Rose looked at me waiting for the continuation of my words.

Then I continued, 

“And Angel… every time Lord Jonah wants to meet her, that girl has been scared. Her soul is so weak, she is frail when exploring the past, and especially yesterday she felt the death event.” 

Mrs. Rose was silent looked down at her shoes.

“Well, let’s just do our job, Moi. That’s our part.” Mrs. Rose finally said. 

I was really disappointed with her attitude as if there was nothing, was taken by Mrs. Rose at this time. 

“We have been managed by Lord Jonah to visit Leman in his cell this noon. While in the afternoon Vicko was prepared in the investigation room.” she said as if changing the subject.   

“These are the files that you must test to them today, Moi.” Said Mrs. Rose handed a folder filled with some forms. 

“Yes, I’m ready, Mrs. Rose.” I answered. 

“Let’s visit Mr. Anton, to his workplace.” said Mrs. Rose while holding my hand.

I stood up, and then walked to the office of Mr. Anton. Actually his place was just opposite of my room.  I saw Mr. Anton come out of his office, and then stood between the flower tree and plants. 

“Morning, Mr. Anton. I’m Moira. We met several times in the dining room.” 

Anton smiled, 

“Morning Moira, it’s rare for you all to visit me.” 

“What flower is this? It’s so beautiful.” I said as I leaned closer to the cluster of purplish flowers. 

Pak Anton laughed, 

“Don’t laugh at me, ok. Neither have I known what flower it is. In the encyclopedia I did not find. Mr. Johno who put it there solely because he said it was beautiful, pleasing to the eye, and said to have medicinal savor.” 

Mrs. Rose, Mr. Anton, and I laughed. This Mr. Anton seemed to be a pleasant figure, even though his face looked serious. 

“By the way, what wind brought you here?”

“Just take a walk, will have breakfast.” said Mrs. Rose relaxed. 

“What is Mr. Anton just doing?” I asked with interest.

Mr. Anton took a deep breath.

Mrs. Rose and I headed to the dining room. 

A moment later, I and Mrs. Rose were eating. While having breakfast, my mind was wandering everywhere. Vicko, with all his genius and physical strength, was unable to get out of here. Moreover me who didn’t have any ability, I thought grimly. 

“Morning Moi, how are you today?” Henry’s voice slipped in my head.

I focused. Communicating with Henry through telepathy must indeed focus and use up energy.

I was still screaming with joy, as if I could not believe I had a new ability again, moving things with the power of thought.

I went in and placed the weightlifting plate on the table, in front of Mrs. Rose. I saw Mrs.Rose’s face looked gawking when she saw that weightlifting plate. 

“Jiaooo, you can do it!” 

“Golly… Moi, this is 5kg… it means twice of my ability.” said Mrs. Rose glared at the iron I was carrying.

“Come on, Mrs. Rose… make the best achievement today. Now, Moi can do it after being taught by a beautiful psychokinetic master.” I praised her. 

Mrs. Rose stood still and laughed, then her face changed serious and began to concentrate. 

“Make higher achievement, surely you can, you can.” I supported. 

“Increased capability, this object is light… Light as a feather. It can, it certainly can move… light is like the battery earlier, lightly drifting, can fly… fly….” 

The round weightlifting plate moved slightly up. Then,

Two soldiers who were in the gym came, they looked surprised to hear the loud noise from the investigation room. 

“What’s going on, Mrs. Rose?” they asked with gape faces. 

“Oh, sorry soldiers. This weightlifting plate fell and broke. Next week I will replace it, so that it is sent from the capital.” said Mrs. Rose pointed to the weightlifting plate. The soldier took pieces of iron and took it out. 

“Okay, done. The floor is clean, we can ask to Leman now. I’ll contact Dragono first.” said Mrs. Rose 

Then Mrs. Rose pressed two numbers on the intercom on the wall, informing that we would be observing an object of Leman.

Object? In my heart I complained, Leman or anyone here was only considered an object, not a human.  

“Let’s go to Leman now. We will meet Dragono and Codi there.” Said Mrs. Rose 

We walked cheerfully side by side, toward the prison located in the most rear building. After passing the middle guard and rear guard we passed Henry’s cell. 

I saw Henry hurry to get up from his seat and stick his hand out of the cell. His hands waved as if want to touch my body.

“Hey, sweet heart… stops by, stops by.” he called sulking. 

“Hi Henry, we’re in a hurry, sorry.” said Mrs. Rose 

Henry’s gaze met mine. I smiled politely and nodded my head at him. Henry smiled sweetly at me. Oh my God, why was that handsome guy in such a horrible place. Oh, Poor Henry. 

“How could you, why am I just being passed?” Henry’s telepathic voice returned to my head. 

“Now we will go to Leman’s place. Reportedly he’s as type as Vicko huh? Actually I’m so trembling.” I replied to his telepathy. 

“I think you’re a cool as psychologist. Your face is beautiful but brave. I think Leman isn’t fierce, just often loses his memory. My message remains careful with Leman. ” 

“Yes, Hen. Thanks. “

“Success for Leman.”

“Ok, thanks my friend,” I replied Henry’s telepathic.

I and Mrs. Rose walked to the cell where Leman was locked up. In front of Leman’s cell looked the giant bald Dragono and a soldier beside him, both armed with black tonfa. 

Creepy.

Chapter 9  Rado, The Electro kinesis

I and Mrs. Rose walked down to leave Risty’s room. We walked towards the dining room for lunch.

I imagined in my mind after having lunch we would meet Rado, our third observation object today. Both of us were not eager to open a conversation, after the incident in Risty’s and Angel’s room.

Dragono stood in front of the dining room, a few steps ahead of us, as if he was waiting for us. 

“Mrs. Rose, as before, and this is the rule. Lord Jonah doesn’t allow you and this kid meet Rado without escort. You can meet in the investigation room in an hour, while Rado will be prepared.”

“Okay, Dragono. Prepare it as well as possible, thanks.” said Mrs. Rose was flat.

One more hour I and Mrs. Rose could meet with Rado. So we both sat in the dining room, spend the meal while waiting for the time come.

“Moi, do you regret accepting our work?” Mrs. Rose opened the conversation.

“Hmmm… it’s not really. Here I have a truly wow experience, which… uhm… other people may never experience it. All at once… yah, I’m also scared here. There are strange guests, while Lord Jonah, Mr. Iskandar… are the people who frightens me.”

Instead what I saw, the woman next to me was always laughing, joking, interacting positively with Dragono, Lord Jonah, and Mrs. Rose was highly respected by the soldiers here. 

Although it was not beneficial for me to suspect her, but trusting her with all my heart, I shouldn’t do it. I had to be diplomatic with her. Acting as if I trusted her while extracting information and knowledge from her.

I and Mrs. Rose walked toward the investigation room, located in the front area, close to the frontier of the middle investigation post, next to the fitness room.

Seen in the fitness room that the door was opened, some shirtless soldiers are exercising there.

When entering the investigation room. It turned out to consist of two rooms. The main investigation room which had a table and chairs for interrogation, with a large pendant lamp above it, from there I understood the function of the large pendant lamp which highlighted the interrogated face. One more room was the observation room located next to the investigation room. There was a black glass directly adjacent to the investigation room. The glass was useful for looking the investigation room.

The observation room had only a little light because the lights were dim, but there was a lot of audio, the microphone which seemed to be connected to the investigation room.

When we got there, we were taken to the observation room where Lord Jonah and Dragono been waiting for us.

“You have to use a microphone, kid. We don’t want to risk your death here. So just follow it.” said Dragono firmly.

I was obedient when the microphone was installed in my body exactly at the hair on the back of my head.

“Remember kid. Don’t try to shake hands with Rado. He can electrocute you with his electro kinetic abilities. You can be disabled and even die if you touch him, and keep your distance. Do you understand?” Dragono said to me. 

I was stunned, was Rado sadistic as it? 

Hadn’t I just met?

But for my safety there was no other sentence except obeying Dragono’s orders.

“Yes, Mr. Dragono. I promise to be careful with Rado.”

From this observation room I could clearly see Rado through the dividing glass who was sitting and being flanked by two soldiers in the investigation room. 

When I and Mrs. Rose walked toward the investigation room, I was aware the glass from inside the observation room. The glass cannot be seen from the investigation room, but instead who was in the observation room can see clearly into the investigation room. 

Behind the thick glass, Lord Jonah and Dragono stood watching our meeting.

I stepped closer to Rado sitting. I and Mrs. Rose sat in line while Rado sat in front of us and there was a large wooden table in front of me, which gave distance.

“Good Afternoon Rado. I introduce to you, this is Moira. She is a fresh graduate of psychology.” said Mrs. Rose opened the conversation.

“Hi Rado, I’m Moira.” I smile at him. 

“I want to be your friend Rado. Hopefully Rado benefits by wanting to be friends with me.”

Rado looked at me cynically. His hands seemed to be tied behind his seat. His singlet was rumpled, so his shoulder bones were looked standing out, while the two soldiers stood on guard, the tonfa was in the hands of the soldier.

“In this world there is no such thing as a friend, especially best friends. You never know the feeling of dudgeon, when betrayal appears.” Rado answered my conversation.

It was true that Rado’s voice spoke like a hissing snake, the emphasis of word was strong, especially when he said the letter ‘s’, while his eyes looked at me sharply.

I leaned toward Rado,

On his right arm was a rose tattoo.

Rado’s face was very clear to me, because of the huge light above him. I realized he had trouble seeing my face because the light above me was turned off. I realized psychologically that this way of communicating showed intimidating him.

Then I stood and looked at the dividing glass in the observation room. 

“Mr. Dragono, please turns the spotlight above of Rado off, and please turns on the lighting of this room.” 

Soon the lighting I wanted happened. I saw the look on Rado’s face change, from looking tense to calm, the position of his body leaning backward. Rado blinked his eyes a moment later he looked at me with enlarged eyes.

“Hmmm… it looks like you also have authority here Moi. And turns out you’re pretty enough.” said Rado, smiling on his lips. 

“Thank you Rado. You can trust me, because I am bound by my academic vows. Don’t hesitate to ask me for help, just tell your feelings to me. I must be trying to help you.” I said, smiling at him.

Rado laughed, 

“Your words are so sweet, Moi. Uh, never you know and feel pain when making friendship is replied by betrayal?”

Suddenly Rado’s eyes glanced to the right and left. Behind him were two soldiers on guard, Rupert and Cody, but both of soldiers looked usual because Rado was bound.

 “Enough, you don’t have to try advising me, my life has been difficult. What do you want from me? So that I get beaten up by soldiers? I don’t need your sympathy.” Rado’s voice suddenly rose.

I remembered. The first day I was on the island, it was heard the sound of screams in pain. It was Rado’s voice which was being disciplined by Dragono and his soldiers. It was very clear that Rado had a grudge for the treatment. 

“Rado, know it that Moi is here assigned to record you, and all your data will be evaluated by the team in the capital, so be nice to her. Who knows, it will be a consideration for commutation.” explained Mrs. Rose trying to intercede.

“Mrs. Rose, which is commutation? My legal status here is unclear.” argued Rado while his eyes looked Mrs. Rose sharply.

“Okay, at least the soldiers won’t discipline you anymore.” answered Mrs. Rose calmly. 

“Mrs. Rose, know it that all soldiers here should be disciplined, not Me.” said Rado.

“Okay Rado. Moira begs you to fill out this questionnaire, in order to expedite Moi’s work. Mr. Rupert, please let Rado’s ties be untied first.” I said trying to end the unpleasant debate, while I submit the test file toward Rado.

Rado glanced sideways when soldier Rupert moved quickly to untie Rado with a plastic handle cutter. It was seen the soldiers keep their distance from Rado, were they afraid there was electricity in Rado’s body?

Soldier Cody put a tonfa to Rado’s head while saying, 

“If your head is hard enough to accept the thump of this stick, please act Rado.”

Rado’s glance changed, his eyes began to look at the file in front of him, and his hand slowly reached out and began to do the test.

“I’m sorry Rado, do this test spontaneously. There is no right or wrong. Be relaxed, ok.” I said to try breaking the tension. 

“Hahaha… You haven’t felt your bone pain when the tonfa hit your body Moi. All the night you won’t be able to sleep.” Rado answered as if whispering.

I nodded. My tongue felt numb. I felt helpless. The dominance of the physical strength of the male soldiers was indeed very strong on this island, especially Lord Jonah as an authoritarian and cruel leader here.

“Rupert and Cody please don’t use violence, when Rado is cooperative. You can get a warning from the boss of Lord Jonah. The test file is filled by Rado will be sent within the next two days.” Mrs. Rose spoke up, made the two soldiers looked at each other, then took a step backward, but stayed in standby.

Rado started to seriously work on the test I gave, in about two hours he handed me the file.

I smiled looking at him, 

“I hope we are good friends forever Rado”

Rado’s voice hissed,

“One day I will deal with the two people behind the glass.”

Two people behind the glass? Those are Lord Jonah and Dragono. The two army officers standing, it was seen from behind the glass of the observation room. Because now the lights in the observation room were brighter than the investigation room that was off.

It was heard the flick of the thumb Rado…

The investigation room lights suddenly lit again.

“Hmmm, you show off your greatness, huh.” Lord Jonah’s voice through the microphone.

“Dragono, you help escorting him to return to his cell.”

Dragono entered the investigation room, his sharp eyes staring Rado who sat smiling.

Mrs. Rose and I exchanged glances. I was amazed. Rado’s electro kinesis ability was really great. 

soldier Rupert ordered Rado’s hands behind his back and tied him with a plastic cable that was pulled, while soldier Cody raised his tonfa on his shoulder, guard sign and said,

“Hi rattlesnake, let’s go back to your room.”

“Enjoy this temporary world…” Rado whistled and sang.

His face as if mocked when his mouth whistled toward the observation glass where Lord Jonah was.

Just me and Mrs. Rose in the investigation room.

“Hmm… people with more ability with deep psychological problems. His words contain threats. To make sure, I evaluate first the result of test, Mrs. Rose. I’ll go back to the room first, Want to recap the results of these tests.”

“Yes, Moi. We meet at dinner time, I’ll pick up. Tomorrow we observe again.”

I took off and returned the microphone to Lord Jonah who was still sitting in the observation room.

I went out and walked to my room, I felt my energy was completely exhausted today. When walking, I imagined taking a shower with warm water, then sleeping until dinner time would be very nice.

In contrast to my first plan, after taking a shower with warm water, I still couldn’t sleep. My eyes looked at the ceiling of the room. My mind was spinning. 

Finally I got up and reached for my files. Besides Vicko who was fought several times by Lord Jonah as a fighter. It turned out that Rado was seen hating Lord Jonah, possibly the harsh treatment of the soldiers made Rado hate him.

“I do not know yet. Tomorrow my schedule is to observe Mrs. Rose, Leman and Vicko.”

I stretched my two tired hand because my elbows had been resting on the table, concentrating on looking at the test files.

“Moi…”

“Yes, Hen?”

“Thank you for trusting me. Having you here made me stronger to endure.”

“You’re welcome. After having dinner, I’m going to Angel’s room. I promise to sleep there tonight.”

“Angel? Ooh the Curly, that’s right, she is poor girl.”

“Angel is not a child at all. She is almost the same age as us.”

“How can it be same? Hey, I’m almost 30 years old. You must be far below me.”

“Yes, Hen. I’m only 17 years old.” 

Henry’s laughter exploded. 

“17 years passed, huh… many passes…”

“Hi Angel, how are you? Moi wants to accompany you to rest tonight.”

I guided Angel up to bed, a thin smile appeared on her face, and it seemed that Angel was happy with my arrival.

That night I had been exhausted, looking at the bed as if to want merging with it quickly. Close to Angel, my mind thought to ask a special question for Angel, about my father’s whereabouts in the past. But seeing the risk that Angel would face, I undo.

Let Angel and me be sincere friends first. Let alone seeing her smile, I didn’t want to hurt the friendship I just built.

That night we fell asleep together.

Chapter 8 Risty and Curly, The Time Explorers

That morning I had waited for Mrs. Rose in front of my room. I was sitting on the steps of my bedroom door, when the attractive woman picked me up as usual.

“Good Morning, Moi.” She greeted.

“Good Morning, Mrs. Rose.”

“This morning we will evaluate Ariesty and Curly. I’ve provided the files. All you have to do is fill in the data based on the questions.”

“Hmm… the psychology team has prepared everything, while I am dealing directly with them. Is it right Mrs. Rose?”

“Yes. I think you will be helped by this, Moi.”

I tried to smile, felt a heavy burden haunted me. Even I thought that Mrs. Rose kept a lot of things, and my trust oscillated to her. 

But, if I didn’t believe her, whom should I believe?

Recording Risty, a pre-cognition girl, a seer of the future, as accurate as what she saw in the future?

Then, recording Angel alias Curly a clairvoyant, a past seer.

I thought they were the time explorers. It was so interesting and challenging my curiosity.

“Well, I like your smile, beautiful. Surely you had a beautiful dream last night?” Joked Mrs. Rose broke my mind.

“Oh… even I didn’t dream anything last night. Last night I had thought. Everything that happens in this place is out of our control. What we can do is to do the best for our tasks. My hope is in six months. I can go home, reunite with my family. Is it right, Mrs. Rose?”

Mrs. Rose snapped her fingers.

Mrs. Rose walked while holding me.

We met Dragono at the dining room door. Mrs. Rose let me to take my meal first, while she chatted with Dragono.

I was thinking,

This Henry, how humbug he was. I could not hold my laughing, I laughed out loud. My laugh stopped, when I realized something. The thing made the entire dining room were silence for a moment. All the eyes of the people in the dining room were fixed on me who was laughing loudly by myself.

I forgot that I was having a conversation using mind telepathy, not with my mouth. The man who claimed to be a ‘friend’ made me act silly and bore shame in front of people. 

I cleared my throat, amassed my broken self-confidence, then lifted my dining tray that I hadn’t done eating, and placed it on a corner table, where other dirty dishes piled up. And I rushed out of the dining room. In my head was heard Henry calling out my name.

Right now I and Mrs. Rose was standing in front of the room where Ariesty was cared for, Ariesty’s or Risty’s room was located in the middle room, in a row with Ronald’s room, Risty’s room at the end of the front. 

When we entered, it turned out that Doctor Stephan was doing his routine check on the girl. Risty looked lying on her bed. I walked slowly toward her lying down.

“How is Risty, Doctor Stephan?” Asked Mrs. Rose

“Risty is in a bad condition than when she first arrived. Blood pressure elevates, and heart rate is faster. Her body temperature right now has a fever, it’s almost 39 Celsius. Head enlargement also increases. Within a maximum of 3 months she must be operated immediately. If not, bleeding can occur in her head, and she will die.”

“Poor Risty. I hope she stabilizes quickly and can be operated immediately. May we talk here? Is she disturbed?”

Dr. Stephan,

Risty was so skinny, the bones stand out here and there, bone cheeks was bulging, neck bones was also seen its segment. Her hair looked very little above the head that was enlarged. Her hair was thin and sparse, probably because often had high fever make her hair fall out. 

Sister Reina was slim with a pair of agile eyes, beside Risty’s bed, near Risty’s feet, replacing Risty’s infusion bottle.

Risty smiled and reached out her hand slowly, 

“I know, one day I will definitely meet you, Moira.”

Huh, I was surprised, one day would meet me? 

Had Risty seen me in the future, so she told me that?

I welcomed Risty’s hand. The girl’s hand was so thin. It almost bony, and felt very light when holding my hand. Her feverish palm left a warm mark on my palm.

The sound of a helicopter was coming closer to the Chimera.

Sister Reina sighed, 

“Will anyone be pitted again, Mrs. Rose?”

“I do not know.”

“That’s my guest, also Curly’s guest from the police.” said Risty, making Mrs. Rose and me looked at each other.

Mrs. Rose looked out of the room. She gave me the code to follow her steps out of Risty’s room. From the front guard aisle looked a group of people coming, and the sound of several pairs of shoes approached the center room where Risty’s room was.

It was Lord Jonah accompanied by several soldiers and two uniformed police officers. One of them was a familiar figure, Mr. Iskandar, the officer who brought Degardo the other day.

Mrs. Rose welcomed them, 

“Do Lord Jonah and these our guests want to meet Risty?”

“I want to go to Angel first, continue to Risty.” said Lord Jonah, followed by Mr. Iskandar. They Passed Mrs. Rose and me who were standing in front of Risty’s room.

“Come on, Moi. We also go to Angel first.”

“I will go, Risty. We will visit again later.” said Mrs. Rose following the group of guests immediately.

It turned out Angel’s room was next to Risty’s, exactly between Risty’s room and Ronaldo’s room. 

“Angel must be treated patiently.” It was heard the voice of Doctor Stephan from the middle room. 

I looked into the room. I saw Angel alias Curly with curly hair sitting on the floor. Her body seemed small surrounded by large-bodied men from the army and police.

“Curly, how come you’re sitting on the floor? Wake up, sit on the bed.” said Mrs. Rose after breaking through the men, and then sat cross-legged approaching Angel.

Angel alias Curly was not budge. Her eyes looked blank staring at the wall in front of her, Mrs. Rose gently raised Angel’s chin to talk to her.

“Curly, we need your help.” said Mrs. Rose while looking at Angel’s face alias Curly.

“I’m fear Mrs. Rose. What other assignment will be given to me?” it was heard Angel’s voice softly.

At that moment I inched forward so I could see Angel’s face clearly. Angel’s skin was brown rather black, her lips were thick, with small curly hair like sticking to her head and her chubby cheeks looked shiny in the light, big black eyes with curved eyelashes and thick eyebrows.

Angel looked sitting on the floor while holding a doll on her chest. The doll was like a dark brown ape, with arms and long legs looked dangling between her cuddle.

Mr. Iskandar gave a smile, came forward, handed a large parcel who was wrapped in wrapping paper and beautiful ribbons to Angel, 

“This is a gift for you, Curly.”

Angel changed her sitting position on the floor. The long dress she wore was tidied up over her thighs. Then from her sitting position, her hand reached, accepted a gift and placed it on her lap. 

“Mr. Iskandar, what other case should I help?” Angel’s eyes blinked, her curved eyelashes were down slowly followed her blink, and it looked doubt there. 

“This is what happened and who is the culprit?” Colleague of Iskandar gave a piece of cloth, maybe a torn of clothes from someone to Angel.

“Another murder?” Asked Angel sighed. 

She brought the torn to her chest. Her eyes began to sway. The movement of her eyeballs was faster to the right and to the left.

“The… the vibrations are very strong. Gosh, he started being persecuted… huh, beaten by two people. His legs were tied. He… sat on the chair. The two men hit, using bat. Aaarrgh… they hit right on the head.” 

Angel alias Curly’s body movements became uncontrollable, the brown doll and the gift she had just hugged looked to be threw away until it bounced off the wall. 

I was stunned to see Angel’s body lying around the floor, both of Angel’s eyes rolled up to just white, it seemed to turn upward.

The sound of Angel’s body pounding on the floor resembled beatings. Bam, boom. It seemed that Angel could no control herself. Her hands were flung to and fro, while her feet stiffly kicking.

“Mrs. Rose, she… she could die. We have to do something.” I exclaimed in fearful see Angel was convulsive on the floor.

“It can’t be, Kid. Wait a little she will calm down.” hissed Dragono coldly while glancing at me.

“He fell from the chair. Ouch… one man took the rope from his pocket and twisted it from behind. Ah… oh… aaarrghh … hahahaha…  the rope was twisted very strongly. Ah… ah… Ouch, my breathing is hard. Ouch…” Angel writhed on the floor while holding her own neck. At that time Angel spoke and seemed to demonstrate the events she told.

“Mrs. Rose, Angel strangles herself.” I began to cry, fear ran through my mind.

Lord Jonah gave a sign with his hand. The police officer next to Mr. Iskandar took out a photo album while approaching Curly. The sound of his shoes squeaked on the floor, adding to the environment of being strained.

“Aaarrghh… aaarghh…” Angel was still writhing on the floor.

“Calm down Curly. I’m here, calm down Curly… calm down…” consoled Mrs. Rose while trying to hold Angel’s head alias Curly, so that she didn’t stumbled the floor.

My eyes looked at Lord Jonah with hate. When Angel was experiencing conditions in pain on the floor, Lord Jonah just casually took advantage of Angel’s weak condition. I thought that Lord Jonah wasn’t human. 

I knew he looked at Angel, just as he looked at Degardo. He did not care what happen to others, as long as his aims and satisfaction were achieved.

Angel could manage her breath. Her chest seemed to go up and down, still breathing hard. While from the arms to her wrists appeared to shine, indicating sweat that was gushing out.

Dragono bowed alongside Angel. 

“Curly, this is a photo album of the police suspect. please show the two people you saw earlier.”

Still breathing hard, Angel observed the photo by photo shown by Dragono. Her hands move, 

“This is the person who traps with a rope and this is the person who holds the leg.”

“So, one of my members is involved. Of course he ran away from his official home.” said Mr. Iskandar in annoyance. 

“Now we find out where he is.” 

“We’re going to Risty’s room now.” Lord Jonah’s voice was heard commanding.

“Thank you, child. I will go first.” Dragono got up and followed Lord Jonah’s entourage to Risty’s room.

I helped Angel to stand up. In the room of the three of us, there were me, Mrs. Rose and Angel, while the entourage had gone to the next room, Risty’s room.

“Thank you, what is your name?” Angel asked, breathing slightly. Angel’s big eyes with thick eyelashes looked at me.

“Me, Moira.”

“Nice name, and you are really lucky, you have mother who loves you very much.”

“You know?  Where do you know?”

“The orange scarf you wore. It was hand made by your mother.”

“Oh yes, that’s right. It’s an old scarf, but I’m happy to wear it. “

When Angel looked at me, she smiled faintly

 “After seeing my face… you keep smiling… why, Angel?”

“You really are a lucky girl. Besides your mother there is also a handsome man who loves you.”

“A man? Do you mean my dad? Unfortunately my dad disappeared two years ago. My dad is an army too. He is a marine captain… Either my dad is still alive or…”

My tears did not feel flowing again, 

“Angel. You can trust me. We can be friends.”

  “Every time I return to the past, I bear the suffering of that person. That hurts so much. Why in this world is filled with hatred? Why does no one love me?” 

Curly’s words seemed to pierce my heart, Curly was a figure thirsty for love.

I hugged and rubbed her back.

“Angel… Tomorrow Moi will accompany you. Tomorrow night we sleep together, ok. If this night I can’t. I have to do a lot of work tonight.”

Curly tried to smile, her big eyes blinked, curved eyelashes such as dolls. I noticed there was a bit of hope there, I must often comfort her. I promise in my heart. 

I took off my orange scarf and put it on Curly’s neck.

“Moi… this?”

“See you later, Angel.” I said.

“We’re going first, Curly.” Said Mrs. Rose continued.

We left Angel’s room. I turned my head and saw poor Angel holding Gonzo and my orange scarf over her chest.

“The longer I get crazy, Mrs. Rose.” I said curtly.

“This is a challenge, Moi. But is it interesting, isn’t it?” Said Mrs. Rose glanced at me.

“In my opinion, Moi can hypnotherapy Angel so that she can relieve the fear and bitterness of her past.” I expressed my hope.

I shook my head to relieve the burden of my head. I entered Risty’s room and saw what Lord Jonah wanted from her.

When we arrived at Risty’s room, the girl was hugging a photo on her chest. It was surrounded by Lord Jonah, Dragono, Mr. Iskandar and the other men.

“I want to catch the culprit in a condition of life without victims and injuries.” said Mr. Iskandar to Risty.

“Grrrr Hhgregg…” Risty’s voice was like a growling person. With cue, Risty asked for a ballpoint and drawing paper, sister Reina deftly gave it.

Risty’s skinny hand moved, drawing with paper was held by sister Reina, while Risty’s big head was propped on the pillows and looked up the ceiling.

“Why does she use stationery, Mrs. Rose?” I whisper softly.

“Yah, her media is that. Later the results will be in the form of symbols. Look, she is drawing without looking at the paper.” Whispered Mrs. Rose to me. 

“Grrrr Hhgregg…” Risty continued to draw while growling. 

Her head propped on the pillow facing the ceiling. Her head was looked little shaking. It seemed she also experienced in pain. 

I remembered Angel again, the girl was in pain too when went through time in the past. Both Angel and Risty suffered when asked to exert their abilities. 

The possibility of exploring through time both into the past and into the future required excess energy.

Risty’s condition was very weak and pathetic. Her head was large with veins bulging on her forehead, her hair was almost bald. I thought Lord Jonah didn’t care about that. 

What he pursued was the case given to him must be immediately revealed, the bright spot of the solution. 

I thought maybe in the eyes of Lord Jonah, Angel, Risty, Vicko, and we were all just people who could be blackmailed, exploited to the end,  no matter how their life bet even killed by him, like Degardo, while Lord Jonah got a lot of money from betting. 

Henry was right. I must leave this hellish place immediately.

I took a deep breath, many times, trying to calm my feelings.

Risty’s hand stopped drawing. A picture was finally handed over to Mr. Iskandar. At first glance a simple picture, there were a picture similar to the Swastika logo, birthday bread, sun, and some other pictures, the pictures that might have to be interpreted further by the police team.

I didn’t know who would interpret it. 

“What does this mean? You coordinate with your force, Iskandar. Your men are involved in a murder. Embarrassing your unity!” Lord Jonah’s voice sounded loud.

“Yes, I will condition it Jonah. He won’t be able to run away.” said Mr. Iskandar flatly, while rubbing his mustache and the other hand was holding a picture of Risty.

Lord Jonah, Mr. Iskandar and his partner rushed out of Risty’s room. Leaving Risty who was weak in bed, her energy seemed to be drained on her journey to the future.

“Doctor… is Risty fine?” I asked.

Sister Reina massaged Risty’s hand, while Doctor Stephan looked at the computer panel connecting to the cable in Risty’s body, 

“She fainted. Running into the future spends her energy. The situation is not so bad. Please you can visit Curly, so that she can also be entertained.”

“We just met Curly.” Rose explained.

My tears dripped when stared at Risty’s pathetic condition. 

I remembered the voice of the girl who came in my dream and asked me for help. She has said to ask for help… not for herself, but help us. We meant more than one person.

How many people should I help? 

And who were they? 

And… How could I help them? 

Could I do it?

Risty still drooped, her eyes seemed closed. Her breathing seemed to fluctuate regularly in her thin chest. Both of her hands, which remained leather wrapped in bones, were lying on the right and left side of her body, with a few cables and an IV tube there.

Ah, Risty. Open your eyes… give me clearer clues again, a clue that I can understand. What can I do for you and other friends, Risty?

Chapter 7 Ron the Indigo Boy

After visiting Henry, I and Mrs. Rose walked away from the cell together, passing the central guarding post. I was impatient to open the conversation, because there was something interfered in my mind regarding Henry’s lament.

“Mrs. Rose we have to do something. Henry’s expression at the beginning was cheerful, but when telling about someone who succeeded defeated his telepathic ability, and there would be bloodshed, his features changed, he was looked very scared.” 

Mrs. Rose answered calmly, as if nothing had happened, 

“Moi, you should know that Henry might be depressed. Some time ago, I had given an antidepressant to make him relax and could sleep, but he refused to drink it, moreover who is the crazy person that can make a commotion here? The guard here is tight, with skilled soldiers, able to muffle the commotion.”

I was silent again, Mrs. Rose’s words seemed to be quipping me and maybe Mrs. Rose also thought that I was depressed too, so just a little information could make me paranoid. 

I was silent for a long time. There was a conflict in my mind, pondering what Mrs. Rose and also Henry’s words, while the flash of the fight yesterday had burdened on me. 

When I was about to enter my room, I saw a man cleaning the floor with a broom. Oh, it was Mr. No, his face bowed seemed to dissolve in sweeping preoccupation. 

“Excuse me, sir. Just clean up…?” I greeted. 

“Yes, clean up, yeah.” answered Mr. No as if repeating my question, while moving slightly away from the door of my room. 

I turned my room key, entered the room, I felt my mind dizzy. 

After lunch, I and Mrs. Rose moved into Ronaldo’s room, an 11-year-old boy with the indigo ability because of seeing the light spectrum of the human body’s aura. 

“This Ron includes special needs, Moi. Here he is also often acting up, sometimes screaming, sometimes running around, even though he doesn’t dare go to the rear guard cell. Some time ago he also made a fuss by pressing the fire alarm, fortunately the guards here responsive that it was Ron.” Mrs. Rose’s story

“Wow, it must have been excited here, Mrs. Rose. But it’s very strange, why did a child as small as he gets to this island?” I asked curiously.

Mrs. Rose didn’t answer. Her gaze was looking straight ahead, as if she hadn’t heard me.

Ronaldo’s room was located before the central guarding post. At the central guarding post there were 3 rooms that are similar to Ronaldo’s room, possibly rooms with harmless residents such as rear guarding cell.

Guard over Ronaldo’s room was not as tight as Henry’s cell which was located behind, Ronaldo’s room was located at the end, closest to the central guarding post. 

There were two soldiers there and even then without carrying arms fire. One of young soldier came to us. 

I read the name placard at his uniform and greeted,

“Hello, Mr. Rupert. Allow us to visit Ronaldo.” 

Then Rupert soldier opened Ronaldo’s door of room unlocked.

“Oh, there is Doctor Stephan.” said Mrs. Rose. 

Dr. Stephan was examining Ronaldo’s stomach with a stethoscope. 

“Good morning, Doc. I’m Moira.” I reached out to him. 

Dr. Stephan shook my hand. I felt the fingers of his hands were small and mushy, not like the hand grip of men in general. 

Dr. Stephan’s face was similar with a photo the Mrs. Rose’s presentation on campus. The doctor looked unenthusiastic, exhausted, it was seen in his blackened eye bags behind the thin lens of his glasses and sleepy face. The doctor let go of my hand and smiled faintly.

“Ron, have you taken medicine?” asking Mrs. Rose while walking toward Ronaldo who was busy playing gadget. 

“Before eating, I gave him methylphenidate, Mrs. Rose so that his attention span is wide.” Dr. Stephan continued, 

“Daily routine control must I do, because he is still a minor, especially since his activities are high. Besides playing gadgets, he often sneaks out for a walk.”

I saw Ronaldo remained engrossed in the gadgets in his hands, as if he ignored us.

“Personally I don’t agree he was preoccupied with the gadget because it could affect the bone structure of the neck.” said Dr. Stephan.

I approached Ronaldo who was sitting with a pillow and bolster propping his back. 

“Hello Ronaldo. I’m Moira. Ron can call me, Sis Moi. It’s fun, playing the game. What game is that? May Sis Moi join to play game?”

Ronaldo didn’t answer my greeting. He remained focused on the android game in his hand. 

“Wow, that’s so exciting to play. Sis Moi was taught, please…”

The boy finally turned to me. I moved closer to his body. We sat parallel at the edge of his bed, while Mrs. Rose sat on the chair in front of me. When sitting, I felt Ron’s height beneath me a little, as evidenced by the tips of his hair that were equal with my eyes.

Not long after that both of us enjoyed playing games.

“Slide right Sis! Yes, let’s raise it a little! Left, left, Sis! Yeah…” Ron was screaming loudly at my side. 

“Game over… Whereas it almost success, huh…” Ron complained. 

I smiled kindly at him, 

“Later we can try again.” 

I looked at Ron. The boy’s body was rather thin. A pair of big round eyes was seen looking around the room, when I spoke. His skin was brownish. His hair was straight limp on his forehead.

“Now I want to talk with Ronald, May I?” 

The boy did not answer. His eyes were on the floor, his legs was dangling on the floor be moved and swung. It was looked that his body energy was large, until the bed that I sat on also rocked. I looked ahead. Dr. Stephan was no seen in Ron’s room. Maybe when I played with Ron, he slipped away. 

“Ronald, how about this place? Are you like, aren’t you? What do you like?” 

“The place is nice, the air is fresh, but sometimes it’s scared too.” said Ron, while shaking his head. 

“What are you afraid, Ron?” 

“Ron doesn’t want to walk the back. It’s scary.” He said, pointing toward the back.

The place behind? That was the place of The Arena, the octagon arena where the man duel until died pathetic, also the location of Henry’s cell, Vicko’s cell. Was it true that Ron had the ability of indigo that was able to see all the horrors there?

“How scary is Ron?” I asked, trying to dig up information, in a tone that I tried as if it were normal, unaffected by Ron’s words that express fright.

“There are some people hovering, Sis. Round and round. Yesterday I saw another new person hovering. He was very big. That person said that it’s hurt, hurt. Ouch, my pelvis is broke.” When he told this, Ron’s voice became smaller. His eyes looked around the room again.

Broken pelvis? Slurrrp! I felt blood on my face as if absorbed, I was reminded of Degardo. So this boy’s indigo ability was true. I felt my entire nape hair stand on end, maybe my face turned pale, my lips bitten, holding back my fear.

A moment later, I changed the subject so that this boy was not traumatic.

“Then which place do you like?” 

“Yeach, around here, often to the beach. Ron likes the beach.” 

“Why does Ron like the beach?” 

“The beach is vast, Sis, free. No matter how much the waves we ask, the sea will give them.” 

“Does Ron like to draw?” 

“little a bit, Sis Moi” 

“Show to Sis Moi, please. Here, Sis Moi have a ballpoint and drawing paper.” 

In accordance by the direction of work that I got, I told Ron to draw. 

Ron started drawing. I gave a little direction about the picture, there was a tree, a house, a person, and others were free.

About half an hour Ron drew, then he handed me the picture.

“This is the house, lots of windows, but closed to be safe. There’s not much wind.” Ron tried to tell me about the picture. 

I saw the house located on the right side, the condition of the house that did not seem to be maintained, the door of the house was closed tightly, while the windows were many but all closed.

“Ron, how come the road is long, huh?” I asked when I saw that there was a trails connecting the home terrace until to the picture of person.

“Yes Sis, the road is far, so that the people who passing are all healthy, Sis.”

I laughed, even though I saw in Ron’s picture was felt that he needed love. I saw a picture of a person, from the proportions there was a picture of a child with big and round eyes, his mouth in a line that extending to the cheeks, and the child was far from the house and trees. 

I held my breath when I saw a picture of a tree that was far away in the left corner, a small tree with twig that seemed not to have leaves, the tree that seemed to be experiencing drought.And what made me shudder was that in the trunk there was a picture of a knife stucked.

“Tomorrow Sis Moi will play again, Ron.” I told Ron, so that my feelings would not be read by this boy, because of looking his picture.

“Yes Sis, thanks. Sis Moi is a good person. But does Sis Moi’s stomach have trouble?”

My stomach? From yesterday I was nausea. Every time I wanted to eat, I remembered Gardo’s blood that extends on the floor, and my stomach was nauseous. I wasn’t able to swallow food. 

“Hahaha… the color spectrum of my stomach is look, isn’t it?” I tried to keep looking cheerful. 

Ron nodded

“Sis Moi is okay. My stomach can’t be filled by food. Every time it is filled, it will vomit, come out again.” 

“It’s called stress, Sis Moi. Ron also saw that Sis Moi’s head was black mist, a sign of many thoughts.” 


I was stunned, sometimes this boy talked more than adult. 

“Yes, Ronmy little brother. Thank you and See you later, ok.” I stroked his hair and asked for leave from his room.

That night I was really busy, arranging the files, in my room. From the work order given by Mrs. Rose, I saw every person who I tested was different in the form of test. 

Hmmm… apparently the team of psychologists behind Mrs. Rose was very experienced in handling cases of disorders and abnormal psychology.

I prepared the file, the file scanner and entered the data into my flash disk, I summarized a brief report about Jeff, Henry and Ronaldo to be conveyed everything to Mrs. Rose, let Mrs. Rose told the team of psychologists who were reputedly to be in the capital.

I re-opened the file about Jeff, Henry and Ron, and read all the things related to them in their past.

“Oh my God, actually they are incredible, but unfortunately many are misdirected.” I said to myself. 

“Moira, have you slept?” Asked a voice in my mind.

“Henry.” I was shocked, almost jumping because I was alone when the voice infiltrated in my mind. 

“That’s right, it’s me.” Henry said in my head. 

“Have you not fallen asleep yet?” I asked. 

“Shhh … you don’t need to produce a voice. Are you sure there isn’t any tapper in your room? Who knows, someone might be overhearing. You just focus on what you want to talk about, put it in your mind on me, and I can catch the frequency of your mind, Moi. No need to produce a voice. We can keep secrecy. Try it.”

“Test… test.” I tried to focus those words in my mind, and then I imagined Henry’s face along with the words in my mind. 

“Very nice. That’s the way to do it, Moi. I can hear you.”

“Yes, I haven’t slept. Not yet sleepy.” 

“If tapper, I’m not sure, because I didn’t see the wires here, even the CCTV cameras were not. Which I known from Mrs. Rose that CCTV in Chimera doesn’t have a sound. Yesterday I met Jeff in the guard mess room that the whole of CCTV were seen and didn’t have a sound, so it only monitored visually.”

“Oh, thankfully, that means its safe.” said Henry. 

“About Ronald, Hen.”  I said in my mind again then hurled to Henry.

“Yup?” 

“He can see the soul of Degardo hovering behind the stadium.”

“Poor Degardo,poor little Ron too. Luckily I don’t have indigo gifted, so I’m safe here. Damn, why am I here because of the wrong deal with Mr. McPherson? And I was placed in this scary back cell, hahaha…”

I smiled,

“You’re dealing with the wrong person, Mr. McPherson, a powerful tycoon. I hope you get released quickly. Basically you aren’t frightening, Hen.” 

“Then?” 

“People are afraid of your abilities. You know that you are strong in manipulating the minds of others quickly.” 

“Strongly and quickly? Hahaha who is said? I must focus on doing it. My energy can be sucked out. Besides getting hungry fast, sometimes my head hurts like being stabbed by thousands of needles for trying too hard to catch a mind frequency of someone. I once slept a full day because of exhaustion, Moi.”

“If… if in my head… what can you find there?” I asked nosy and curious. Even I didn’t know what I was thinking right now, hahaha… 

“In your head? Wait a minute… I’m there. You’re focusing on hearing my voice.”

“Moi, be my best friend. Will you?” 

“Best friend?” 

“But I mean, it’s really best friend, Moi. A friend who trusts and supports one another. Honestly Moi, I’m not sure I can get out of here safely. Fuck Mr. McPherson, who might still be chasing me if I’m smelt appearing in society. The important thing is I can escape this damned prison.”

“When I see you, somehow I find a life expectancy. Be my best friend, and let us together try to get out of this hell.”

I’m speechless. Get out of this place? Although I was hesitant between my friendship with Mrs. Rose and tights guard here, on the other hand the treatment and threat of Lord Jonah, and the deadly duel made me also want to run away.

“How do you do it, Hen? How can we all get out of this prison?” I tried to explore that possibility. I heard no more voice in my mind. Apparently Henry was silent for a few moments. 

“Henry? Henry?”

The man did not answer the call through my mind. Had he fallen asleep? Or did he get a visit to his cell, this late? 

And, the man’s voice suddenly entered my mind again. 

“No, Moi. I have not slept. Seen from the back window of my cell, there is a small speedboat on the beach. It can be filled maximum of only a few adults. Think of the best way to get out of here, Moi.” 

Chapter 6 Henry, a handsome man with the telepathy

We walked towards Henry cell that located in the back.

From our place now, it was the front guard mess. We had to go through two soldier guard posts, it were central guard post and rear guard posts.

Every placement of guard posts,it always faced the solid door made of iron. At guard post there weretwo soldiers and a medium-sized table, and also two seats for soldiers who were guarding.

My heart felt pounding, didn’t know why, or maybe because would meet the handsomest man on the Chimera Island?

Might Henry be as handsome as in the photo?

Or even more so?

And what about his special telepathic abilities?

What was his ability like?

Oh…

My mind was mixed when remembering something about Henry.

When passing the central guard post, two soldiers stood up and saluted us.I looked at Mrs. Rose and thought how tight guard here was. 

“If the guarding isn’t optimal, Henry can manipulate the mind of the guard.” said Mrs. Rose seemed to know what was on my mind.

“It could have all the doors opened by the guard, couldn’t it, Mrs. Rose?” I said.

“Yes, and Henry will run away, hahaha.” Mrs. Rose laughed.  

We arrived at the rear guard post, the last one. Before arriving the cells where the special prisoners were there, I walked behind Mrs. Rose, covered my body and my face from the eyes of the people in the cells opposite the soldier guard post, while The Arena was in the left corner of the guard post.

Two soldiers stood up and saluted to Mrs. Rose. 

Mrs. Rose said to these two soldiers, 

“We want to meet Henry.” pointing straight ahead.

Oh, 

It turned out Henry’s cell was facing the guard post.

One of the soldiers walked before us, opened the cell where Henry was.  

To overcome my awkwardness, while arranging my thoughts and facial expressions that have not been comfort, I still walked behind following Mrs. Rose.

I looked to my left side, an Octagon ring in the middle of The Arena. I shudder in fearful. The shadow of death was there.

A soldier opened Henry’s cell, 

“Henry, you have a visit.”

“Mrs. Rose, These are. I bring the chairs.” said another soldier.

“Thank you.” Mrs. Rose answered while accepting the plastic chairs. 

Mrs. Rose walked forward while carrying two plastic chairs that were given the soldier. 

Henry’s cell condition at glance looked as same as my room, narrow.

We walked slowly, on my left there was a wardrobe, on my right side was the bed. A glimpse of Henry’s face appeared from Mrs. Rose’s back.

While Mrs. Rose half bent over arranging a plastic chair in the middle of Henry’s cell aisle, I made eye contact with Henry, a handsome man clearly was seen by me.

His handsome face with thick straight hair, combed to the left side, his thick bangs were above his left eyebrow. His sharp nose with a look in his eyes looked at me, thick eyebrows and his shape pleasing women kind. 

His yellowish skin was highlighted by a lamp light, while his body appeared athletic with a bulge of muscles covered in white shirts. It was not like the muscles of most soldiers, but Henry was athletic. 

Henry’s sharp nose made me know that my height was around his nose. A handsome figure, athletic and charming.

Uummm…

Henry appeared fashionable with knee-length blue jeans.  The man was looked relaxed, looked at me. His eyes were looked far away, Geez…

It washed me away.

“Henry, Introduce this is special girl. Cum laude graduate from psychology, Moira.” said Mrs. Rose

“Oh, hello Moira. You were the girl who ran around in my cell’s aisle while crying, weren’t you? Now I can look at you directly. You’re more beautiful, if you’re not cry, Moi.” Henry said while smiling.

I looked down shame. Henry had seen me crying. Gee whish… it was very shameful. My self-respect fell aground in front of him even before I started my conversation with him.

After setting my feelings to calm down, I straightened my head. 

“Hello Henry, I’m Moira. Let Moi to record you, because this is my duty. “

Henry did not answer my words, his smile remained thin on his face, and then I saw Henry put his left index finger to his forehead.

I heard a voice which suddenly broke through my mind, 

“Hello sweety, honestly I’m so glad to be visited by you. Please, you want to ask anything from me. If I can, sure I will give it, Moi. You can also record me every day, weeks, or forever, I’m willing too. Hehehe…”

I gasped. I saw Henry’s lips keep quiet do not say anything. Apparently Henry was using telepathy to talk to me through mind.

“What… uh, what’s this?” 

I looked back at Henry as if in disbelief. Henry’s lips still to smile, his eyes blinked, there was a mischievous glance in the corner of his eye. Oh, this man really was teasing me through his telepathic abilities.

“It’s been so long I didn’t meet a girl as beautiful as you. Can I be your boyfriend, Moi? “

I was fascinated by the sounds that filled my head. Unknowingly I dropped the plastic folder containing the files, and files seemed to scatter on the floor.

This time Henry really laughed, the sound of his laugh echoing in her cell room.

In a low voice and careful Henry said,

Mrs. Rose held on Henry’s right hand,

“This is beyond my reach, Mrs. Rose. I don’t know who they are.” Henry said, looking down again.

I felt like I got a friend, the same friend because of feeling fright. Not for long I said the sentences that I hadn’t had time to think about beforehand.

Mrs. Rose got up and hugged me.

Mrs. Rose looked at Henry.

For a moment, after Henry could control himself he said weakly,

All I know, they want it soon. They are very thirsty for blood.” Henry turned his face back then looked up while his hand squeezing the edge of his bed

“Surely, the leader of this place is not dependable.” I said furiously

Henry looked at me, 

“Yes. I think you are right Moi. The leader of this place could be the source of all the horror and this will continue.”

“Don’t prejudice bad yet.” interrupted Mrs. Rose

“If it’s not him,who else Mrs. Rose? The Vicko match… The sadistic gladiatorial match.Whose idea,if not his idea?”I said vehemently.

“Shhh… keep your voice down.” Henry whispered in reminder.

“In this place, the bloodshed of Degardo and 15 other people, that person is actually hoarding wealth.”I said again in a low voice, even though my heart was upset.

“Do you need sleeping pills for tonight Henry?” asked Mrs. Rose

Henry shook his head, 

“I prefer to be fully awake Mrs. Rose. I think maybe by staying awake I can hear something else. Well, I hope so. If I sleep, I can’t hear anything… and… if something really happens, at least I can do something.”

I was stunned. Suddenly I remembered what happened last night.

Henry looked at me sharply,

After I asked him to fill out my psychological testing, just to fulfill my work responsibilities at Chimera, we left Henry.
